Great book, should not be listened to.

This is a really helpful book, but it does not work as an audio book. There are lots of exercises that would really benefit from being on paper.

For anyone blocked!

It worked for me. Give it a listen and do the morning pages. 30 years since the original book and it is still relevant.

Insightful read

I enjoyed this book and picked up a lot of practise which I will maintain. Understanding why one is blocked is a great starting point.

Inspiring and helpful

I can understand why this book was and is still so popular, I wish I had got it earlier! It's super helpful, practical and inspiring.
I've listened to this a couple of times now and want to get a hardcopy of it too, to do the exercises. I really recommend this book, especially if you are feeling stuck or doubt yourself as an artist.

Amazing! Life Changing!

This book is truly life changing! It teaches you the art of life and living free.
I highly recommend to get the physical workbook and the book as well beside this audiobook because there are many chapters where it is better to take notes and follow the tasks recommended by the writer. And the audio will be great to revisit again and again!
I have no idea why people say it is religious… and i am not a religious person. To be creative you need an open mind. :)

Just what I needed.

'The Artist's Way' by Julia Cameron is a remarkable audiobook that I had the pleasure of experiencing. I followed along with a physical copy, reminiscent of the 'read along' books from my childhood, which added a unique layer of engagement to the process.

The audiobook is narrated with a soothing and engaging tone that makes it easy to follow along. The pacing is just right, allowing listeners to absorb the wealth of information and insights without feeling overwhelmed. The audio quality is excellent, making the listening experience smooth and enjoyable.

The book itself is a 12-week program designed to help individuals recover their creative self. As someone who was not even aware of needing such a recovery, I found the insights provided by Cameron to be enlightening and transformative. The exercises and tasks, such as the 'Morning Pages' and 'Artist's Date', were particularly impactful, helping me to unlock and nurture my creativity in ways I hadn't before.

The combination of the physical book and the audiobook made for a comprehensive experience. The physical book allowed me to engage with the material in a tactile way, making notes and highlighting sections that resonated with me. The audiobook, on the other hand, allowed me to immerse myself in the material, absorbing the insights and advice in a more intuitive way.

In conclusion, 'The Artist's Way' audiobook is a powerful tool for anyone looking to rediscover and nurture their creativity. Whether you're an artist facing a creative block, or someone simply looking to explore their creative side, this audiobook (especially when paired with the physical book) offers a transformative journey that is well worth the time and effort.

Too much religion, lacking content

Aside from the narrators irritating flowery, gushing tone, this book annoyed me. I got to chapter 8, hoping thats its introductory nature would evolve into the meaty content of the subject. But it just bangs on and on about religion, god, divinity, etc and no matter what the tacked on preface says, most of the content makes zero sense to an atheist. Its preachy, smug and lacking in actual constructive suggestions. 8 chapters in and all I can take from it is to write 3 pages a day as a brain dump. Which IS a good idea but please lose the fluff!!

Also, far, far, FAR, too many quotations.

Works well as an audiobook

Had the print copy for years but didn’t really use it as it’s designed or do the 12 week course, perhaps I felt a bit of subconscious overwhelm. Having the book as an audio I could simply listen to chapters week by week without flicking forward, and have found it an accessible and manageable way to do the 12 week course, which I have just completed. Well structured, easy to follow and for me, doing the exercises yielded positive results. Would recommend.
