About this listen

They asked Amber to become a magical girl three times.

She refused. That only made her more interesting.

The fourth time, she asked them.

While the start of the book was quite strong and a book like this had promise, once the protagonist gets to the academy the rest of the story focuses on her meeting the other girls. There are only 2 important events that happen when the protagonist has arrives (an explosion and a flight gone wrong, which each situation was really short in the book), and the rest of the book is “oooh this is your power, or oh that’s new of my power, and we should go shopping”. The interest level just completely dropped out by the end of the book, as we have very little knowledge who the enemy is, what is going to happen to keep us hooked on the story line, or why the two events happened. Because there was no explanation for those events at all….
