About this listen

Attorney Sabre Brown is charged with saving Conner, a 15-year-old who’s accused of murdering his grandma's abusive boyfriend. All eyewitness accounts and forensic evidence point directly to the boy. To make matters worse, this time it's personal. Conner is the nephew of JP Torn, Sabre's boyfriend.

Undaunted, Sabre and JP investigate, turning up sordid details and a long list of suspects. Soon, tempers flare, confidences are broken, and secrets of the past surface as they try to untangle the web of lies created by JP's family.

Do this book justice and listen

I really enjoyed this book, there was so many twist and turns as to who the killer was that it kept me hooked. I love this series as Saber and the team are great characters but I really loved the introduction of JP's niece and nephew and hope to see them in a lot more books in the future. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommended it.
JP is in for a shock when he opens his front door, to find a niece he never knew he had on the front step. Worse she is there because her brother has just been arrested for murder. Estranged from his brother JP and Saber are in for a crash course learning about his family as well as trying to find the really killer. It's not long before punches are thrown and suspects pop up as JP tries to track down his missing brother. Saber also has other cases in court that need her attention but with JP busy she turns to Bob (her work husband and fellow attorney) for help which complicates matters further. Will JP lose his nephew before he even gets to met him? Or will the team come together and find the real killer?
The narrator was good and I had no problems telling the characters apart.

A different twist to the story line

This story was different in that it involved the family of J. R.. There was as always so many twists and turns on who did it.

This involves an investigation into the death of someone who JR's nephew is accused of killing and he has to investigate who the real culprit is. The story never gives away the guilty person until the end. This author is always full of surprises and it is always a joy to read/listen to her books.

The narrator as always is great.
