Summary
Barbara Freethy's NYT best-selling series The Callaways continues with another romantic, pause resisting, and heartwarming novel about love, loyalty, and risking it all.
FBI agent Kate Callaway is on her way to San Francisco for a family wedding when her boss asks her to make a side trip to deliver an important message to a rogue ex-agent.
Devin Scott wanted FBI resources to find a serial killer who is believed to be dead. Instead he gets a newly minted agent who is a beautiful, idealistic, and irritating distraction. He wants her to walk away, and she knows she should go...but she can't.
Suddenly Kate is caught up in a cold case mystery and the arms of a dangerously sexy man whose obsession with truth and justice could put not only his life on the line but also hers.

Fast paced and satisfying
I loved this story and listening to it only added to the pleasurable experience. The plot kept me guessing until the very end and I loved the ending!! This may have been my first Barbara Freethy Book but it definitely won’t be my last!

Not the usual standard
The story line was good but the performance dropped the overall quality. Narration was clipped and distracted from the story. I hope all in this series are not this way...

Really Good Book
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I am new to audible and now I'm hooked. The book was really good and Kate and Devon are a great match. If you are like me and read out of order you will not get lost. This was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

Good read
This was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. This was my first audible book and I wasn't sure what to expect. The narrator was not monotone which is what I expected. I liked the suspense and was kept guessing until the very end. I was pleased that I didn't figure out the plot halfway in. I liked that the attraction between Devin and Kate didn't dominate the story. Another great read from Barbara Freethy.

Tender Is The Night - another great Callaways book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! It is a great story that is well written with great characters and great storyline.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the suspense of the storyline working out the "who done it", and of course the way the characters are brought together.
Which character – as performed by Eva Kaminsky – was your favorite?
Kate. The narrator did an awesome job but I prefer hearing a male do the male speaking/thinking and a female do the female speaking/thinking.
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend this book. The entire series is a must read!
