A fantasy tale of human nature's greed.
Where does Tales of Erana: The Warrior's Curse rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I am quite new to audiobooks, but the story lent itself well as a listening experience.
What did you like best about this story?
Although the warning of greed in the story could translate to any era, I think that the historical setting gave it a darker slant. It is a very descriptive story, making it easier to picture the people and the events taking place.
What about Rob Goll’s performance did you like?
Rob Goll's performance brought the descriptive narrative to life, subtly highlighting changes in pace and very much enhanced the experience.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Be careful what you wish for.
Any additional comments?
This is not my usual genre, but now that I have been introduced to it, I would definitely recommend it to others. Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook.

For me, a new author and a new genre...
Not being a reader of magical, mysterious, fantasy tales, I started listening with a degree of scepticism...I needn't have, as Alexandra Butcher's Tales of Erana: The Warrior's Curse, narrated by Rob Goll, caught my imagination and immediately pulled me into a very different world. The strong writing and crafted narration about an unfamiliar place and strange characters, soon became familiar and of concern...what was going to happen and how would those involved fare?
Then themes became apparent that exist closer to home and in the present day...fear, lust, betrayal, ignorance and how tragedy repeats itself from one generation to the next.
Rob Goll's tone is rich and powerful yet at the same time understated, giving the story voice without overwhelming it.
I intend to listed to more by this talented author and her well chosen story teller...
