Summary
Survival medicine that works
In a post-disaster world, you can be worth your weight in gold as the only survivor with medical knowledge.
After a disaster, there’s a single, vital skill that very few survivors will have. Fighters and builders are important, but there is no survivor so valuable and sought after as the one who can help out when illness or injury strikes.
As any good prepper knows, thinking ahead and planning ahead will enable you to live a good and healthy life completely off the grid. The ability to care for the sick and injured? That’s one of the most important preparations you can make.
I’ve spent my life honing my own skills as a survivalist, and now I’m here to show you how you can keep your loved ones healthy and alive.
Hi, I’m Beau Griffin. I’m an expert survivalist and I’ve had a lot of practice at living off the beaten path, making my way with nothing but a set of basic tools and my own experience to sustain me. I’ve tested out the territory and learned by doing and now I am here to put that knowledge to good use: teaching you how to be the emergency responder that you and your loved ones will NEED after a disaster.
Give me one day and I’ll double your chances of survival.
Give me a week and you’ll have a broad knowledge and understanding of the emergencies you are likely to encounter in a post-disaster world.
In this audiobook, we’ll cover:
- The golden rules of a first response to make sure your patient survives
- The key items you’ll want to include in your disaster first aid kit
- And more

Has an error in production and weak material
One of the chapters at the start is repeated. You don't realize it at first. Most people are turned off by this and say the author is just repeating. You need to get past Chapter 3. There is some useful information in it. But I will agree with most the title is beyond misleading. This book makes it most important point at the beginning and repeats that mantra the rest of the book. It does not give you any particular medical knowledge. So I cannot recommend this book to anyone. I have to question if this was actually a best seller.

Great!
I am a Registered Nurse but haven't done first aid in a long time. I was asked to be a Camp Nurse for a youth group and this book brought to remembrance much of what I already knew and helped me prepare for the role.

most uninformative book I've read.
he repeats the same thing over and over for the entirety of the book. I learned nothing but thanks audible for the free credit.

Great Refresher
I enjoyed it. I've taken a few First Aid courses, so it was a nice refresher. And some tips were really great to learn.

Good Value
For trying to cover first aid and general medicine in a 2.5 hour audio book it does well. It does really well for the price. Would have given a 5 except for a few obvious errors missed on proof reading ( I’m looking at you meningitis). It covers mostly first aid with less coverage on “post SHTF” medicine which is an intentional and wise choice by the authors. Good start for preparedness, but it is really more of a jump off point considering the breath of the subject.

Overview
This book won't teach you survival medicine, but it will function as a good survey of many of the kinds of things you will need to learn and practice if you intend to study survival medicine. It's a good intro.

Not a book to listen to
This book is one that should not be consumed by listening. Why? Because it is full of lists, which inherently makes it almost impossible to retain or digest. Add to that the fact that it is read pretty fast, and you will spend more time hitting pause than actually learning. Unless, of course, you want to take this book as if taking an online class, in which case I would recommend that you sit down in a quiet room with pen and paper and get ready to scribble. I do think that it has worthwhile content, and will look into purchasing the paper copy.
