Summary

Nikki Gray has reason to hate the dragon hunters - they brutally murdered one of her friends a year ago. Not only that, they have caused havoc on several of the British dragon clans, injuring countless individuals. Determined to defeat the hunters by kidnaping their leader, Simon Bourne, she teams up with a human male in the British Special Forces. After six months of work, they're finally ready to carry out their mission and capture Bourne. However, one kiss derails their plans and changes their lives forever.

At the request of his sister, Rafe Hartley agrees to work with the dragon-shifters. After all, the dragon hunters are a pain in his arse and the fewer of them, the better. The woman assigned as his Stonefire liaison, however, is the same one he hurt four years ago in Afghanistan. Pushing aside their past, they learn to work together. Yet with each passing encounter, he is drawn to the lively, stubborn woman. He finally gives in to his attraction and kisses the dragonwoman. What follows turns his life upside down.

Rafe and Nikki must now decide what to do with their futures. Can they still work together and find a way to capture Simon Bourne? Or, will their fated kiss result in a divide that can't be healed?

The Title is Perfect.

What made the experience of listening to Surrendering to the Dragon the most enjoyable?

I have listened to several of Jessie Donovan's Dragon stories after having read the book some time before listening. Once again, I loved it. Matthew Lloyd Davies is excellent with all the voices, including the dragon, who in this book is a female.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think her dragon, and especially if I can include Nickki since they are in the same body.

Any additional comments?

As always Ms. Donovan has gifted us with another can't-put-down-audio When I read the blurb I couldn't figure out how one lousy (or in this case hot as heck) kiss could change lives. Now I know. And ain't it grand? These two unlikely lovers are unique, stubborn, loyal and strong emotionally as well as physically. Both soldiers, I love the times Ms. takes Mr. down. It is so different with having the female dragon and the male human--what a wonderful story. They are so strong with heartbreaking histories getting to know each other has blockades that must be broken down. Watching the male dragons around Nikki try to stare down Rafe is both funny and rewarding to see him stand his ground.

The dangers to their love are legal and physical as well as emotional. The dragon Hunters brought them together, will they tear them apart or worse take their lives? The mate claim is strong, however, there is little time to recover with the missions pressing. How will they deal with the results? Their love story is touching and scary. Not only does Rafe have to win his lady love--she has a clan of dragons—the legal system against him. Is he up to the task? If he can win over Nikki's dragon he'll have a strong ally. And once again the dragon's internal conversations with her human is sometimes funny, sometimes profound and just good sense—when she isn't trying to get more sex. Yes, female dragons are just as sex-minded as the males.

Another opportunity to revisit some of our favorite old friends and make new ones. This is a not to miss audio as are all of Jessie Donovan books and audios. Enjoy this strong recommend.

Good narration

The narrators accent makes the story good. I think it is funny though to hear him portray a female dragon even if it is supposed to be serious.
Rafe and Niki make a great couple. They are always arguing with each other until that first kiss, then the mating frenzy kicks in. Since they are so passionate in everything they do, they bring that passion into their relationship. What the decide to so once Niki is pregnant is up in the air.
The dragon hunters make an appearance as normal. They must track down the one responsible. The new prime minister is about to be sworn in too. Who will it be?

Surrendering to the Dragon is all you could want!

First and foremost: Rafe and Nikki are One of my favorite couples in this entire series! Rafe said some stupid things in the past to Nikki, but can they both overcome a moment of stupidity? To hear Nikki and her dragon talk, I don’t know which of the two I love more. For there to be expectations for Nikki because of who she is really sets the bar high.
Then to bring a blast from the past in, Rafe, it adds an even more exciting twist to the story line. Then with the DDA and the hunters also in this book this is one book you cannot put down.
Trust me you, will definitely want this book in your collection. I would tell you oh so much more but I don’t want to ruin any of the surprises and exciting moments in this book. 😉

Surrendering

What can i say about this narrator that i havent already? His narrations of the Stonefire books are always spot on and this one is no different. The feeling and life he puts into the characters voices is once again amazing and brings them to life. I love the Stonefire dragons ans i love how this narrator portrays them.

Just One Kiss

Surrendering to the Dragon is the 7th book in Jessie Donovan's Stonefire Dragons series and it is an amazing story. This book features Nikki Gray and Rafe Hartley.

Nikki and Rafe are working together to take down Simon Bourne, leader of the dragon hunters. They have worked together in the past and due to some hateful things Rafe said one night to Nikki after a friends death Nikki is determined to keep her distance from the no good alpha human.

Rafe has very strong feelings for Nikki and after six months of working together he can't stand it anymore and gives into his basic need and kisses her. That one kiss is all it takes for Nikki's dragon to stakes claim to Rafe as her true mate and she doesn't want to let him go until he gives them a child. Nikki even thou she is losing her fight with her inner dragon pushes Rafe away. Now Rafe needs to make a choice in helping Nikki and her dragon by becoming a father or throwing six months of work out the window and walking away.

This is a very touching love story as not only are Rafe and Nikki working against each other with their true feelings, but if they do have a child together, they have to fight the legal system that doesn't allow male humans to live with the dragons.

I really enjoyed learning more about not only who Nikki is but who Rafe is as well. I really hope to learn more about this amazing couple in future books.
