About this listen
Unraveling family secrets can be murder . . .
When Polyester Monroe was young, she loved playing in her family's textile store. But after a fatal tragedy, Land of a Thousand Fabrics was boarded up and Poly never expected to see the inside again. These days her time is spent designing prom dresses from cheap fabrics and covering the flaws with a glue gun.
When her great uncle passes away and leaves her the fabric store, she sees it as a sign to change her life. But when a man connected to her family's tragedy is found dead in the parking lot behind the store the day after she moves in, her illusions of reopening the glamorous fabric store are shredded. Poly pulls at threads to unravel the truth, but can she keep herself out of the fray?

A captivating story and a great thriller
This story was exciting and such thought rendering. The narrator is fantastic and really knows how to relate the atmospheric story to the listener. I am now ready for book two.

Dressed to kill
I did enjoy this book but I kept waiting for the heroine to start investigating instead she just seemed to react to the situations she found herself in and worried about the abandoned shop. This ment there wasn't a lot of suspects and I thought the killer was fairly obvious but that was just me. It was a fun listen and I liked most of the characters, the ones you are supposed to like anyway and especially the adorable kittens. I hope they have a bigger role to play in the future. The unusual shop is a nice change for a cozy mystery and I will be joining Poly on her next mystery.
When Poly's uncle dies and leaves her an abandoned fabric shop, she just plans to sign some papers and be done with it. Instead walking in reminds her of lots of good memories of spending time with her aunt and uncle before her aunt was murdered there. Unforseen circumstances has her staying longer than expected when her car breaks down and then she discovers a body. Somebody is trying real hard to make her leave but why? And could the new death be connected to the murder of her aunt? There is only one way to find out. Can Poly find out what happened all those years ago?
I liked the narrator. She gave each character there own voice to help bring the story to life.
