About this listen
Sheffield is a strange city.
Throughout it's long history there have been countless tales of the weird and the wonderful within its boundaries.
Strange Sheffield features a selection of Ghost Stories, some well known but of them less so, from across Sheffield's history.
Featuring tales of Bunting Nook and The Stocksbridge Bypass, two of England’s most haunted roads, as well as other ghost stories from across the city including:
- The Phantom Carriage of Graves Park
- The Heroic Poltergeist of Mosborough
- The Ghost Plane of Owler Bar
- The Floating Feet of Angel Street
- Spring Heeled Jack
- The Hound of Hilsborough
The book also covers a few of Sheffield's mysterious UFO sightings including a look 1997s now infamous "Sheffield Incident,” where a craft was allegedly downed in Howden Reservoir and that was once raised in Parliament, as well as UFO sightings reported by police officers in Woodseats and Ecclesfield.
I thank you all for your understanding and your support. This is my first book and I have been totally overwhelmed at the response it has received.

Good Stories
There were certainly some ghostly and interesting things in this book. However some of it was a bit bland. Overall it was worth purchasing.

haunting stories
these are great stories. The kind that stay with you and that you think about often. they make you wish you lived in such mystical world's but terrify you when you realize the darkest parts of the stories come from reality.

Strange Sheffield
A fantastic collection of paranormal tales from Sheffield. There was an interesting mix of ghost stories, UFO encounters and local legends. The majority of the tales were bite sized, with the more meaty 'Sheffield Incident' as the heart of the book. I enjoyed the narration and I'm looking forward to hearing more in this Strange Britain series. 👍

Strange Sheffield
A ghostly second world war Dakota, a disappearing fish and chip shop and a mysterious matron who punishes staff caught sleeping on duty at a large Sheffield hospital are just 3 amongst around 30 stories from the pen of Adrian Finney in this edition of his Strange Britain series, Strange Sheffield. A really good listen which had me hooked throughout. I recognised many of the tales as Sheffield isn't that far from us. A highly recommended listen. Peter McGiffens narration is brilliant, clear and consise with just the right amount of suspense/emotion. He really brings the stories to life. Well worth it's 5 stars. I look forward to listening to any more books in this series.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.
