Summary

I have my senior year planned: keep my head down, don’t make any waves, and get the diploma. I’ve done the popularity thing at Savage River High, but after two years away, I have no interest in reclaiming my crown.

The last time I put myself in the spotlight, I was left in shambles.

Unfortunately, my carefully laid plans go to hell when I grab the attention of dark, forbidding, and brutally hot Sebastian Vega. He looks at me like he wants to kill my puppy or eat me alive. Quite possibly both.

Sebastian is everywhere I go, and he’s decided I’m the twisted game he wants to play, whether I’m a willing participant or not.

The question is...what will I have to lose in order to win?

Author's Note: This is a dark high school bully romance with mature themes and dubious situations that some listeners may find offensive. If you’re looking for a nice guy prince of a hero, this story isn’t for you.

Great story and narration. Definitely recommend!

Start A Fire sees Julia Wolf, writing as J. Wolf, go to the dark side, and I'm totally here for it!

Whilst I love Julia's rockstar romances, her venture into high school bully romance is certainly a success. And the narration from Allie Piper, with Gideon Frost, really brings this fantastic story and characters to life.

Allie Piper is fantastic as Grace Patel, an ex-cheerleader and all-round popular girl, returning to her former school after a couple years abroad. But life is much different for Grace this time around. Gone is her nice home and relative wealth, with the death of her father changing her forever.

The new Grace gets to know people that she never really gave time to before, and finds her new best friend Bex, as well as Helen aka Hells Bells.

She also meets Sebastian 'Bash' Vega, wonderfully, albeit briefly, performed by Gideon Frost, who has issues with Grace as soon as he meets her. Bash attempts to intimidate the new girl, alongside his best friend Gabe.

The great thing about Grace, however, is that she doesn't sit meekly by or let Bash get away with his behaviour.

Julia does introduce some non-con involving Bash and Grace, which some might not be comfortable with, but she handles it well (and honestly, I love a bad boy!). Grace's experience with the star football player during her first stint at the school is much worse than anything we see from Bash, in my opinion.

Bash is also more than the sum of his parts. His character has depth and Julia has made sure that whilst he may be a little bit psycho, he's perfect for Grace.

The supporting characters in Start A Fire are great, especially Gabe, and I'm hoping we'll eventually have each of the books from the series on audible. The audio has brought this story to life more than ever.

I'm definitely invested in this 'savage' crew!
