Enjoyed the story.

I did enjoy the story with its twists and turns. The narration was pretty good too. The only thing was that I felt that the ending lacked the closure I had so hoped for. Perhaps it was the author's intent to leave me wanting more; if so, then the book is a success.

Great Story

Loved the main character and the way her story was told, it was really relatable, took me back to my childhood in places, and was funny in places.

Story was good but dragged a bit in places but definitely worth a listen

Delicate and Harrowing

How do people write such complex books? What sort of brain can craft Characters so succinctly? I don't want to tell you anything about this book I don't want to spoil it for you, but do read it, I promise you it will be worth your time and money

Not what I expected at all

I laughed alot at the innocence & funny comments of children, then it became more serious. I cried some too. Am unusual book full of emotions, the ups & downs of life in the raw. Read superbly too.

A fine reading of a beautiful book

Gripping, compassionate and psychologically insightful. A moving story about trauma and survival. Bailey at her best.

Wow, wow, wow!

What a fantastic listen this was. I was completely absorbed all the way through. I have many, many audiobooks in my library, but this is definitely in the top five. The narration was absolutely spot-on and I really can’t praise the whole thing highly enough. Now I’ve got the monumental task of finding something new to match it.

Easy listen but long winded

Not a bad listen, I managed all the way to the end. But was very long winded, explaining things in great detail. I did skip a few times. Not an enthralling read.

The summary is definitely misleading

Firstly, it's not a "mystery/thriller" or suspenseful. And does go on a bit in parts and could be more concise. It is written well and more of a 'nice' book.

A curious tale

Stephanie is a child of the 60s with a background of religion spliced with a disapproving mother. Stephanie along with her friend Dawn make friends with a neighbour who they name Mr Man.

One day when Dawn and Stephanie had arranged to meet, Dawn disappears.

Years later following a chance meeting Stephanie revisits her memories from that time in an attempt to find the truth of what actually happened.

The story was engaging but the reasoning behind what happened didn't wholly convince this listener.
