Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The gripping new thriller from the number-one best-selling author of The Couple Next Door.

It can be hard keeping secrets in a tight-knit neighbourhood.

In a tranquil, leafy suburb of ordinary streets - one where everyone is polite and friendly - an anonymous note has been left at some of the houses.

I’m so sorry. My son has been getting into people’s houses. He’s broken into yours.

Who is this boy, and what might he have uncovered? As whispers start to circulate, suspicion mounts.

And when a missing local woman is found murdered, the tension reaches breaking point. Who killed her? Who knows more than they’re telling? And how far will all these very nice people go to protect their secrets?

Maybe you don’t know your neighbour as well as you thought you did....

Typical Shari Lapena Book! Brilliant

Reel you right in and then twist it at the end! Loved it. Addictive till the end.

Great read!

I could not put this book down! Lots of twists and turns. The narrator was excellent and I was enthralled. Great ending too.

Wish I had not bothered

This was such a run of the mill, standard thriller that I had to keep double checking to see if I had the right author. I’ve enjoyed her previous works but this was tedious. A boring suburban murder with dull characters who did not spring from the page.

It's good but has nothing on some her other work!

Narrated beautifully, story was enjoyable just not as brilliant thought out as her other books 'couple next door' and 'stranger in the house'. Still worth a listen but unfortunately didn't out do her previous work.

Great book

Good story IMO the narrator was pretty decent, especially at differentiating characters. Im just not a fan of American accents wish there was a British narrator option also.

Great story but OMG the narrator is to American!

I loved this book but the narrator was quite annoying. As she’s American she pronounces words strangely, she couldn’t say Riley correctly and it was very annoying but other than that a great listen

Great story, full of intrigue

Really enjoyed this story unravelling as it built up pace. There are a couple of layers that help to build the characters and how their lives are entertwined and how they get more so as it goes along.
Great narration too
