Summary

More than a decade ago, Roman Calder had a scorching affair with the sister of one of his best friends. Augustine Spencer drove him so crazy he thought of nothing but her. The only thing they did more often than heat the sheets was fight. Unprepared for the intensity of their relationship, Roman broke things off and concentrated on things that made sense to him: his career and putting his best friend, Zack Hayes, in the White House.

Gus Spencer is known to Washington insiders as the president's secret weapon. Gorgeous and brilliant, Gus runs the press pool with the determination of a shark. No one dares to cross her, not when she's known for having a spine of steel...but long ago one man melted her down. Despite the fact that she'll never forgive Roman for breaking her heart, now that they work together she can't get him off her mind.

When a dangerous investigation leads both Roman and Gus to London, the heat between them becomes unbearable. As they begin to unravel an international conspiracy, they find themselves falling all over again. But when a killer threatens their world, can they fight to stay together or will the sins of their past keep them forever apart?

Contains mature themes.

another exciting read in this series

I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole perfect Gentleman series so far. I already owned this book in Kindle form but since I love having stories read to me I jumped at the chance to buy it on Audible. co.uk. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and hope that it is underway now.

Wow... just wow! The Plot Thickens!

Talk about a cliffhanger.... I really hate the thought of waiting another year to find out what happens next with The Perfect Gentlemen and their wives! Roman and Gus are sexy and explosive. It’s nice to get a few more pieces to this intricate puzzle and the backstory as well.

Lots of intrigue, but this was also an emotional ride. I really love how seamlessly Black and Blake weave these couples into the overlying thriller that runs from the first book until now- with virtually no plot holes. Each player is described in such detail, from the inside out, they come alive , and it’s so easy to become invested in these relationships. These are definitely not stand alones-you have to start at the beginning-and it’s time well spent.

The dialogue is fantastic, though sometimes during the action I felt like Roman and Gus were each in their own heads just a little bit too much. The sexual chemistry between these two is off the charts, and when they get together it’s intimate, erotic, and all consuming. I got all the feels.

One of the things I love about these books & this couple is that they are adults-in their late 30’s, have made mistakes, are still falling in love, still sexy, confident, mature enough to work things through, take responsibility for their choices, willing to take risks emotionally.....eventually.

This is truly a sophisticated, witty, twisted, suspenseful, mysterious, romantic, erotic, political thriller. It was worth the wait and definitely everything I anticipated and more. I couldn’t put it down! I need more!!!!

Greg Boudreaux nailed the narration of this, he did the women’s voices and the occasional accent with ease- even differentiating between English/British accents and maintained southern accents making the characters easily identifiable.

Absolutely worth the credit or cash, and I will be listening again-I think I might even have to start at book 1 and listen to them all again now that I have more of the story! These never get old!

I’m going to try and be patient for the next installment of The Perfect Gentlemen......❤️

Best yet!

Have loved all of the books in this series but this one was my favorite! So much fun and suspense and as usual, very sexy, and right now I am just hoping that the next and I suspect last book in the series will not be too far behind.

Sex was everything

This story started out really good, but as always, sex rule the H and h. How can a woman accept shallow man who broke her heart. I never understood these authors who wrote women as a doormat. These authors made the women to be strong. However, when it comes to “ dick” they turn out to be weak. This story was just that! Wow! Soooo sad that the writers just can’t make strong heroine. They always end up like a doormat. Sooo sooo sad! If you love sex that rule heartbreak, this one is for you!

Nope

This man did everything he could to disrespect & humiliate this woman & she just kept coming back for more. The mysteries involving the president & the murder were interesting but the love story was crap.

Great story... loved it ❤️

Story about reunited lovers... separated not in good terms. Will the past haunt the future... of course it will.. 😆

Sounds like a simple story but it's not; that's what makes it great.

The narration is just perfect. 🥰 makes the book worth keeping.

This is a great standalone book too. Don't miss out. Enjoy!!

Suspense at every turn!!!

Shayla & Lexi are a dynamic duo in this Perfect Gentlemen series!!! Each chapter leaves you, the reader/listener, yearning for more. "Just one more chapter!!" Greg Boudreaux's narration helps pile on the suspense, turning up the heat on the romantic scenes, making you want to grab that popcorn and watch while the drama hits the roof! The ending has left me saying "what the...?!?" and yearning for the next book.

You definitely want to get your hands on this one!!

I really enjoyed this book. What I don’t like is changing the narrator halfway through a series!!

Better narrator! Yay!

I adore Augustine! The smartest one of the bunch! Not to mention, the first lady(?) of the Perfect Gentlemen. (That is apposed to The First Lady, Joy.) Ah yeah, it is advisable that one reads this series in order from the beginning. A lot of interconnected info happens that one does not want to miss. You may figure out what Gus and I figured out. Fun twist. Thank goodness for the change in narrator. I like this one much better. Thank you.
