Summary
ATF special agents, Thayne Wolfe, and his partner, Jarrett Evans, have gotten into sticky situations in the past but nothing prepares them for the daunting task of being loaned out to a coal mine in West Virginia where Jarrett's grown up. Investigating a deadly mining explosion may be the end of them yet.
In one of the most beautiful places on earth, Jarrett is familiar with the territory, growing up working in a nearby mine for a couple years before joining the Marine Corps just after high school. When he and his partner encounter a dubious mine CEO, two ATF agents who they're tasked to investigate, and a good 'ol boy who has a pickaxe to grind, all they can hope, is to solve this case before ending up dead and buried in that mine.

Spot on!
I'm a big fan of this series, and have all of the books and audios available so far. This story is by far the sweetest. It's also pretty hot, and, of course, full of action. Everything I like in a story.
Thayne and Jarrett have grown and developed so much, I love them together, they compliment one another so well. In this book, we meet Jarrett's family, his father and his brothers. As you'd expect from Ms Logan, their characters are written tremendously well. The dynamics between them all are wonderful.
As usual, Ms Logan keeps you on the edge of your seat, the plot is inventive, lively and snappy. Michael Pauley's narration is spot on. Can't wait for the next one.

Slip into a world of adventure, love, danger and family drama
Patricia Logan has written another tale of men in danger (in more ways than just physical) in this excellent series.
Michael Pauley does a wonderful job of bringing the minor characters to life as well as the two main men.
We get to meet the rest of the Evans men and find out a bit about what made Jarret into the man that we know and that Thayne is in love with.
A thoroughly enjoyable read and listen!
