Summary
Hunter: I knew how much Kayla had changed over the past few weeks, but it was nothing compared to what I had seen in her from the moment we stepped into this place. The Kayla from before she learned about this world, was gone. She was already attached to some of their kind and I could see that she felt as if it was her responsibility to protect them all, the haunted and the fallen.
She was starting to put them before her in every decision she made. It started sometime before we left the Academy where her father is in charge. After her incubus half-brother and his allies attacked the Academy, we managed to leave and take shelter here. Only, everything about this place is completely different.
Many of the beings that live here have earned back the privilege of being full-blooded angels. Well, some say that is a privilege; others see it as a curse. Either way, the place itself had already started to become my very own curse.
From the moment Kayla stepped foot in this place, I could see her change complete faster and faster. This Academy was giving her the confidence to be who she was meant to be, and deep down, I knew it was only a matter of time before I would no longer be needed in her life. It may sound selfish, but as Kayla started her journey to save those who were left behind, I was fighting for her. I was fighting to be worthy of a Nephilim.

Gentle tern love story in hell
All four short books makes this one story. Best brought as a set.
The story is good but is let down by the narrator. Clearly spoken but with no gift for other voices she made it confusing as the story is told by many characters.

Most action yet!
This novel has the most action yet! There was more gasping and awe moments. The best one so far! The production issues were mostly all fixed, the same voice for all characters still looses stars for me tho.

Good book
I really liked this book and getting hunter’s POV. Kayla and Hunter have hard choices to make and yet can they make them? Kayla just keeps growing and learning more and more about what she is and what she can do. I really enjoyed this continuation to the series.

My fave so far!!
This book has got to be my favorite so far!!
I absolutely loved how this book was in Hunter’s POV.
Being able to see how he feels, thinks, and how he sees the world is great. I feel like so much goes down in this book! Kayla has grown up so much from the first time we met her. So much character development for both!
This book reminded me a bit of the Shadow hunters world so if you love that world make sure you pick this book up.
I did listen to the audiobook, and I really wish there was a different narrator for this particular book. I would have loved to have had a male voice.

As she comes into her powers, and learns what she can do.
