Story
I get paid to follow a womanizing troglodyte who thinks rules are for other people and that my pants are the next pair he’s getting into. Bet your first professional job didn’t involve babysitting an extremely hot, muscle-bound Scottish highlander with an ego the size of a kilt and libido bigger than his…well…chicken. Keeping Scottish football (that’s "soccer" to us Americans) player Hamish McCormick away from inappropriate scandals while he does product endorsement campaigns is my mission. No problem. Until Hamish decides I’m his next scandal. And maybe more...

Ten years ago, my high school crush found me during senior finals week in the student parking lot with my car decorated with items you find behind a drugstore counter and a "Most Likely to..." banner that would make a pro blush. And by "pro", I don't mean golf. In under an hour, everything I knew about myself was turned upside down and inside out, just as our high school career was in its final hours.

Story
When I was young and impulsive (okay, it was only five years ago, alright?) I let my boyfriend take, let's just say...compromising pictures of me. (Shut up. It made sense at the time.) Surprise! The sleazy back-stabbing jerk posted them on a website and, well, you can guess what happened. I’m a meme. Now I get tagged on social media whenever anyone shares them. You try getting a thousand notifications a day, all of them pictures of your tatas. It’s time for revenge. But how do you get embarrassingly intimate pictures of your jerkface ex who double-crossed you five years ago?

Sinclair Amadeus Sterling, a.k.a. Mr. Superior Jackass with a God complex. Who also happens to be my blackmailer...gulp. Tall, dark, gazillionaire growly pants. The first time I met him, I kneed him in his very well endowed balls - don't ask! He had that tightly leashed, controlling air and a smoldering glare that made me damp in seconds. The only thing that sucks worse than his attitude is his (lack of) sense of humor! Honest. Sadly, he's also the one who could save my business from going bust. Hell!

One night in Monaco, my best friend, Maxence, disappeared from the middle of the Monte Carlo casino like blowing away a breath of smoke. I have no idea what Maxence was doing in Monaco that night. Yeah, he loves the Monte Carlo casino - the stage of British spy movies, billionaires, Russian mafia, and roulette. But too many people in Monaco think he might be a danger to them. He never should have been there. But he was. And so was Simone.

At 25, I run a successful business, live in a fantastic apartment, and have fabulous friends to go out with any night of the week. It was only supposed to be a marriage of convenience. Let me just say, this whole part-time lover thing was her idea. I’d have gone all in from the start, but hey, when a gorgeous, brilliant woman invites you into her bed, and only her bed...well, I said yes. But then, one hysterical phone call from my brother later, begging me to find myself a wife so grandfather’s business stays in the family, and I need a promotion with Elise. Turns out a full-time husband suits her needs too, and a temporary marriage of convenience ought to do the trick, until we can simply untie the knot....

Since the last guy turned out to be married, they’ve been easy-to-follow. Until him. Callum Huxley is a ridiculously sexy Brit, and the connection we have the moment our eyes lock scares the ever-loving hell out of me. Thank God I came to my senses before going back to his hotel where I would’ve ended up naked, panting, and unable to forget him. Thinking I walked away from that night unscathed was stupid. Sure enough, at the biggest meeting of my career waits the CEO of Dovetail Enterprises - him. It might be the most embarrassing moment of my professional life.

I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life. Story
The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start. On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom. (The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.) I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat. So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb - the British guy from the men’s room. And so it began...my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?

Summary
I don’t understand Americans. Or, as we say in Scotland, I dinna understand ye eedjits.
And I definitely dinna understand the crazy mother-in-law of my cousin Declan. Who in their right mind names a wee dog Chuffy?
I’m stuck in New York after ma agent makes a bloody mess of an otherwise good endorsement contract for a sports towel company, and this crazy American holiday - Thanksgiving - is in two days.
The invitation to spend it in Mendon, Massachusetts with the Jacoby family is about as appealing as rotten haggis. As far as I can tell, Thanksgiving is about stuffing yerself silly, watching pathetic American “football”, while fighting with relatives ye only see once a year.
If I wanted that last one, I’d head back to Scotland, where we dinna need a holiday to be salty to each other.
Ma firm answer is nae.
Until I remember Amy is part of the family.
Suddenly, I’m available.
Eager, even. Perhaps she’ll pull ma wishbone. I hear that’s part of the Turkey Day festivities, aye?
What I canna admit, though, is how she pulls ma heartstrings, too.
Which shouldna feel better than the wishbone, but it does.
And here comes Amy's mother with another holiday tradition, this one a bit early.
A sprig o’ mistletoe, dangling right above Amy’s bonnie head.
Shopping for a Turkey features Scottish football player Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby as they navigate unusual cultural norms, new traditions, and the undeniable attraction between these two characters, who have appeared as supporting players in Julia Kent's New York Times best-selling Shopping series. It's their turn to have their own all-new spin-off series. And to pull the wishbone. ;)

i laughed until I cried
Whenever I pick up a new book from Julia Kent, I know I am in for a wonderfully entertaining read. I was in stitches having laughed so much I cried. That’s right, not only laughing but snort laughing. The performances of Shane East and Emma Wilder was brilliant and they certainly brought the chaos and crazy of these characters to life for me.
I was supposed to be in the US this year for my first Thanksgiving but sadly fate had other plans for me. I lived attending a Thanksgiving dinner vicariously through reading this book. This is Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby’s story and was a fantastic addition to the series. We have met both of these characters in previous books and I couldn’t wait for them to get their own story.
This book was pure chaos, but in a good way. The family and shenanigans were as outrageous as always and made for a fun read. It was so much fun to see all the familiar faces that we have come to know and love in this story. There were also some swoon worthy moments and I felt that Hamish and Amy were well suited to one another.
Shopping For A Turkey was a brilliant addition to one of my favourite romantic comedy series ever.

Hysterical!
Oh, my, I wish I was at the Jacoby/McCormick Thanksgiving celebration just to experience the wackiness of this extended family! I absolutely love every installment in the Shopping for Billionaire/Shopping for a CEO series, and now we're getting another series that focuses on Jacoby sister Amy and McCormick cousin Hamish.
Shopping for a Turkey is the most outrageous Thanksgiving-gone-arwy comedy I've ever written. From page one to the very end, this book is filled with wild and hysterical antics that we've come to expect from the whole clan, especially Carol and Jason as the elder Jacobys. Hamish and Amy are off to an amazing start.
The audio, narrated by Emma Wilder and Shane East, is my favorite audio in this world so far. Emma Wilder's comedic timing and delivery is the best in the business. She's one of my absolute favorite narrators, and I could listen to her all day every day. Shane East is also great as Hamish, the larger-than-life Scotsman with a boisterous spirit. Both Emma and Shane do an amazing job, too, with voice differentiation and accents among the extended Jacoby/McCormick family, and they make this such a fun listen from the first word.
On a side note, those Jacoby sisters and McCormick men has quite the relatives to contend with. There is a ton of love on the Jacoby side, but wow are Jason and Carol a handful. And James McCormick sure comes with a lot of baggage.
All in all, a hysterical riot that leaves you so damn happy and gives you a stomachache from all the laughs.

Such a fun story!!
Hamish is such a whiner! Lol! Nude photo shoot? Omg! Amy's parents! #Dead! Lolol! Mistaken phone call, hilarious! The old ladies at yoga! Bwah hahaha!
Hamish and Amy had gotten paired together in the past for a wedding. She calls him thinking he's her sister. This was hilarious and I loved how Amy just kept on denying out loud how she wasn't at all interested in Hamish, even though she looks at him all lustily. I also loved every time he called her out on said lusty staring.
Emma Wilder and Shane East were so good in this book. Both do an excellent Scottish accent. Which I'm sure isn't easy.

Laugh out loud awesomeness
A laugh out loud masterpiece. I laughed out loud so many times during this book and this will definitely be as a re-listen for me.
After Amy's mother breaks her leg during an adult activity right before Thanksgiving, it's up to her and her sisters to take over. Hamish McCormick, famous Soccer player, is in town as well. But since all the flights are booked, he joins Amy's family for Thanksgiving.
The story had me laughing so hard from the beginning and I devoured this audio book within just a couple hours. I could not stop listening. Every part of the story is relatable because I could see at least 3 of the "disasters" happening during any of my family gatherings. Amy and Hamish's banter is top notch and the tension between them was amazing.
Emma Wilder was great as Amy. And Shane East's Scottish accent was great. I loved these two together narrating Amy and Hamish, they were the perfect choices.
