Summary

What the hell?!
I don’t really know what to say about this book. It starts off as a story about a disillusioned priest running a homeless shelter. There’s a lot of lovely detail about the denizens of the place, the willing but judgmental volunteers and the church hierarchy in the form of the Priest’s friend turned Bishop who you just know plays golf. Then it goes (to quote another character) bay shit crazy and turns into one of those sub-Dan Brown sagas with hidden sects and cover ups by the Catholic Church. There are two great jokes and a weird Twin Peaks tribute. I agree with the author’s political standpoint but here is proof that not all the loons are on the right! Great abortion discussion though…
