Oh noooo...LOL big time
I am so sorry, but I did not like this book at all. It is one loooong clich?, and with the most stupid ending ever. The narrator is so funny when she is pretending to be a male, that I was laughing out loud sometimes. Also if you know just a tiny bit about computers, gaming and the internet, you will see this as a joke. Sorry, but I was very disappointed. I did finish the book though, but just because i had already paid for it....

SLOW START BUT ENJOYABLE
I thought the reader was good, and represented Catherine Dance's thoughts and feelings well. It was a bit slow at the beginning, but I did get caught up in it eventually. Not as good as the majority of Deaver books though.

Poor in comparison
I've given up on Deaver without Lincoln Rhyme. This interested me to start, it's obviously thoroughly researched regarding the gaming world but I was so disappointed when we found out who was behind the killings, I found it lazy and unbeleivable. It lacked the twists and turns of his other novels, it wasn't scary or gripping. This is not the standard I have come to expect from Mr D and I hope he hasn't sold out.

poor
predictable plot, poor dialogue, the narrator was not bad, but going gruff for men, a bit corny. Comparing this to other Deaver books, is chalk and cheese. This book makes me think Deaver did not write it himself

Not one of his best
OK not one of the best got fed up about all the filler (the blog address and the explanation of what she does for a living) It made it seem his readers could not remember what the characters main abilities were.

Not his best effort
Short sentences, with completely obvious phrases. Maybe he got a robot to write it! It's a mismatched and misplaced double tale, with neither one believable. He had fantastic, brilliant books in the past - this is definitely not the best.

An average book spoiled!!
The story was ok though it did get a bit boring in places. Two things that really ruined it for me was the way the author tries to use 'street talk' for the teenagers that just seemed too over the top.
But the main reason I didn't enjoy this book is that it has a lady narrator but 90% of the characters are men, and a woman talking in deep voices is just too much distraction!!
