About this listen
Though Raven Mathis and Miguel Huerta have recently opened their new recovery business, doing things they used to do on their own, things haven’t been going so well. But some things have gone right. They’ve settled down in Nana’s house and are deeply in love. And they’re getting accustomed to working as partners, but business is slow. But when they get a call asking if they can help recover a valuable pigeon’s blood ruby, they jump at the chance, even though they’re advised to carry guns.
When the man Miguel left for dead in the desert long ago unexpectedly shows up at their first meeting with their new client, the request that they come armed, suddenly becomes a harsh reality. Miguel is in total disbelief as he’s abruptly faced with a ghost who might be out for blood. And when a dark stranger starts making threats, things start spiraling out of control. Miguel hates the fact that Raven is in terrible danger, and how is his former lover involved?
Figuring out how to navigate Miguel’s past may prove harder to overcome than they realize. It’s a lot to ask of Raven. Will their love for each other be enough? The rush to figure out why operatives are targeting them becomes a necessity, and though Miguel hates it, he realizes he may just have to rely on a few new colleagues to help.
He knows one thing, though…killing the man he’d once been in love with, might be the only way to save Raven.

Intrigue and Danger
Whilst you don’t need to have read the Death and Destruction series, it might be useful to understand why this band of brothers are all in without knowing the details.
Patricia Logan is winding a web of intrigue, setting the scene for a bigger picture, not yet revealed and you just know it’s going to be good.

Great addition to the series
Miguel and Raven are doing great.
They're settling in at Nana's and learning how to navigate their relationship with a working relationship.
They're each doubting themselves but they are rock solid in their trust and belief in each other.
When they take on a new job, there's something hinky about it.
Miguel's past reaches out and it could have long lasting ramifications for their future well-being.
This was filled with fast paced action, danger and mystery.
Michael Dean did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Exciting and action-packed
“Renegade” is the second book in the Tracker series and I recommend reading the books in order.
Raven and Miguel have moved in together and they are very much in love with each other. They are also business partners, but business has been going badly so far. Until an assignment comes in for them to find a valuable ruby. The two of them accept the job and then things get rough.
This was one of the books that captivated me from start to finish. The writing style is wonderfully easy-going, there are emotional moments and the story quickly becomes quite exciting and action-packed. I was rooting for the two of them, because there are one or two tricky situations. I find Raven and Miguel both very likeable and endearing and I think they are very cute as a couple. They are very protective of each other and together they are pretty hot.
But back to the case: at the first meeting with the new client, Miguel sees a ghost from his past. John should actually be dead, because his team left him to die in the desert over 10 years ago, and yet he is suddenly standing in front of Miguel. And so the events begin to unfold. Who is friend, who is foe and why are Miguel and Raven suddenly caught in the crossfire?
As I said, once I started listening to the audiobook, I really wanted to know what would happen next and so it only took me two days to finish it. Anyone familiar with the author's other series will be pleased to see some of the characters again. I certainly enjoyed seeing the protagonists from previous books again.
At the end of the investigation, a lot of things were resolved, but not everything, which was great for me. Because now I'm all the more curious to find out what happens next and hope that it won't be long before the third volume is published.
Michael Dean narrated the audiobook and as always he did a fantastic job. I could tell the characters apart very well and Michael always manages to portray the emotions, but also the situations such as action and suspense appropriately. He has a pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to!
A very entertaining, exciting and enjoyable book that was a great listen!

Riveting!
This book held my attention from start to finish. I found myself holding my breath more than once. Raven and Miguel run into more than expected when they are hired to retrieve a valuable ruby.
The blurb does a great job of explaining the story. I enjoyed the cameos by characters from some of Patricia Logan's other series but you don't need to have read them to enjoy this series. I would recommend reading this series in publication order to best enjoy them. The main plot is concluded but not everything is resolved. I'd call it a soft cliffhanger. I can't wait to read or listen to the next one!
Michael Dean does a wonderful job performing this story.
