Summary

Casey McQuiston's royally romantic enemies to lovers bestseller. Now a Prime Original movie starring Nicholas Galitzine, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Uma Thurman, and Stephen Fry.

What happens when America's First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales?

Alex Claremont-Diaz is handsome, charismatic, a genius – pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House ever since his mother first became President of the United States. There’s only one problem. When the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an altercation between Alex and Prince Henry, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

Heads of family and state devise a plan for damage control: stage a truce. But what begins as a fake, Instagrammable friendship grows deeper, and more dangerous, than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon they are hurtling into a secret romance that could derail the presidential campaign and upend two nations.

Critic reviews

"Red, White & Royal Blue is outrageously fun. It is romantic, sexy, witty and thrilling. I loved every second." (Taylor Jenkins Reid, New York Times best-selling author of Daisy Jones & The Six)

R,w&rb

Took a long time to get into the story, the romance was great but I didn’t enjoy the families apart from the sisters. Didn’t care for the last chapter about the votes as you knew what would happen

I love this book

I first bought this book while on holiday a few years back and I’ve loved it ever since and had to have the audio to listen to in the car, if you’ve not read this book read it, if you loved the movie read it.

brilliant!

Utterly charming romance which, remarkably, had me laughing out loud. A beautifully written love story.

Sweet

A romantic story in the old fairy tale tradition with all the emotional twists and turns and heroic lessons and messages. Very well read and well paced.

Good LGBT fan fiction story, annoying fake British accents and references

I enjoyed the story, although in places it was a bit unbelievable due to terms or info related to the UK being wrong or used incorrectly, but it didn’t feel changed to distance from the real royals to to make more of a fantasy novel, but more lack of knowledge, and this further made some aspects unbelievable. The USA parts (book is very USA centric) all sounded more believable but then I would t notice inconsistency there.
The UK accent was horrid and it made the story a much harder listen - what is it with Americans and thinking the fake accent is good (or true any of the UK). I only had to look uk US terms twice such as a brown stone meaning a house. I think o preferred the film which lead me to the audiobook; I enjoyed it though could have been improvements with the UK ‘England’ parts and fake ‘British’ voice (I wonder if I’d have liked it a lot more otherwise). But I did listen to the end. B

EPIC

Voice actor was okay but he made Henry sound like 80 years old for some reason- haha

Loved the story and the character so much - one of my faves!

Romance with important message

It took a fair share of chapters to grab interest in the story. I almost returned it because of that. I'm quite glad I didn't.
The love story would not have this much impact without the context of the world we live in.
I cried. Twice.
But not so much for a couple, so for the hope that one day this HEA could've happened. Hope for a more tolerant and open-minded world.

A Brilliant Queer Fairytale

This book was brilliant. Each character well developed and realistically thought out.

I became very invested in the main characters and felt quite moved during the ups and downs during the progression of the story.

Highly recommend if you wish to be swept up in a queer modern fairytale.
