Summary

Go on tour with the woman who betrayed me? Not on your life.

Six years ago, she was just some stranger I woke up next to. By nightfall, I knew she was the one.
Or so I thought.
Six months later, she destroyed me.

And now, we're being forced into a reunion neither of us wants.
We may have to play nice, but when the lights are off...so are our masks.

This Brilliant Story, Series & Narration Rocks!

I loved everything about this book, from Samantha Christy’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who brought it all to life from the pages to my ears. I am a huge fan of rock star romance novels and this series easily became one of my top favorites, each book features a different member of “Reckless Alibi” and stand’s on its own but I highly recommend starting with the first book and enjoying them in order, not only are they outstanding stories but it is great to watch them rise in the industry and make it big plus some characters appearing all the books and it is beneficial to know their back story. This third book is Garrett and Reece’s story, Garrett is the drummer and Reece is the girl who broke his heart. They have not seen each other in six years, but when Reece hears a song she wrote on the radio, she was pissed and took legal action against Reckless Alibi. Garrett is still angry with Reece for what she had done to him, he remembers or rather does not remember who really created the song, the lawyers and the label come up with a solution, paid royalties and Reece gets to perform the song while on tour and gets to be an opening act. She has always wanted to be a musician but has not caught her big break yet and this is her chance. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story with alternating timelines giving you a glimpse into their past showing how Reece and Garrett met, their relationship they had and what went so wrong that Garrett is so angry with her. There is never a dull moment in this fabulous second chance romance, it has plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot loving. Besides Garrett and Reece’s romance, there are storylines involving band drama and updates on the bandmates and their relationships with their significant others, another reason to enjoy the first two books before this one. Samantha Christy, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride, it was great to catch up with all the previous characters as well.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon are mega talented narrators, versatile voice artists and fabulously entertaining storytellers. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the character to sound. Jason Clarke rocked it as Garrett and as a rocker, Erin Mallon did the same for Reece, both were great performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. Thank you for another exceptional listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

The audio book is better than the book deserves.

Deservedly the last of a series. There are meagre pickings in this unhappy book of shadow characters. The audio book is better than the book deserves.

Fabulous ❤️❤️❤️

What an amazing book and audio! I loved Garrett and Reece's story with its complications, issues and their past. The past is revealed cleverly and weaves into the story beautifully. My heart bled for both of them. Again, Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke were truly wonderful narrators. Their ability to pull you into the story is magical. I have not been able to stop listening. 💖💖💖💖💖

Absolutely perfect

Oh this storyline is brilliant. Samantha has written such a great book, the characters are wonderful and complicated. With a few twists along the way. I definitely have a new favourite narration duo. Erin and Jason give a fantastic performance.

Disappointed - SPOILERS.

I enjoyed the other books in this series but for so many reasons, I can’t say the same for Reckless Reunion. To begin with, I intensely dislike the female lead, Reece. I honestly don’t know how anyone could like her. The way she betrayed Garrett was completely unforgivable, and the reasons the author used to get the audience to sympathize with her were absurd and excused nothing. They didn’t help me understand her, and instead caused me to dislike her even more. Then, when she found out he used the song they wrote together, she had the nerve to behave like she was the wronged party. She and her best friend Maddox were self righteous and treated Garrett like he was the victim. After what she did to him, she should have let him have the damn song. It was the least she could have done to start making up for her cruelty to him. She should have been begging for his forgiveness, not suing him for rights. Not only did she carelessly stomp all over his heart while he was pursuing his dream; she also managed to tear apart his entire family and destroy his relationship with his brother. It’s not as if she made a drunken mistake. She MARRIED his brother. Also, I hated the ending, from the wedding to the epilogue. I love a happy ending, but this one was way too much. The band mates have a triple wedding and buy side by side houses with the fences between them torn down. 5 minutes after their wedding ceremony, they find out that ALL of them were nominated for Grammys. Ella carries a baby for Reece since she couldn’t and they all reach mega stardom in the blink of an eye. It’s ridiculous and the extreme perfection of their personal lives and careers is almost juvenile. It’s like a little girl’s fantasy. I don’t want my books to be realistic. I get enough of that in a real life, but come on. This is just too much

SUCH BETRAYAL! DOUBLE BETRAYAL

Though Reece had EVERY right to do exactly what she did I CAN NOT FORGIVE IT. This book is really good but I could never listen to it again. Too heartbreaking. I need a drink after this. PS I wrote this review before the epilogue but nothing would have made me feel better.

Dissatisfied

Spoiler****

First, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series. The leads overcame adversity and found understanding and equally deserving companions. While the writing remained good, the storyline was disappointing. What did Garrett do to deserve a totally reprehensible partner. Reece had no redeeming qualities. So what that she grew up in foster care. That is not an excuse to be so selfish, self-centered and greedy. Her betrayal of Garret with his brother is unforgivable and certainly should not have been rewarded with fame, fortune and Garret. He deserved, not a perfect, but an honest, trustworthy and compassionate person.

I have read all of Ms. Christy’s books and this was the first and only one I haven’t loved... it will not keep me from reading more!!!

So worth the credit

This one had some interesting twists.
We’ve seen Garrett in the first two books in the series and there’s always been a darkness to him. Between the constant rotation of no-named women to the bad blood between Garrett and his brother it’s obvious something happened in his past, and this book uncovers it all.
Reece never expected her music career to take off in the way it does, hearing her own song being sung on the radio by a newly famous band. There is only one person who could have stolen her music and that is the last person she wants to face. And when Garrett and Reece finally come face to face things are explosive. They both have so many secrets that they need to share in order to move forward.

Really?!

Really disliked Reece. She was so selfish. Sleeping with and marrying Garrett's brother and then blaming him for it?! I have listened to a lot of books, but never ever have I disliked a main character as much as I disliked Reece. Garrett should have ended up with someone so much better than her and she should have ended up alone.

Kind of Angry ...

I am sitting here at the end baffled and kind of angry. This is how it ends …? This is what Garrett gets …? Lima and Crew get Ella and Bria. Brad rejoins the band with Katy’s full support baby Olivia being cute and making one big happy band family. Garrett gets Reece …? I did not like Reece, I did not agree with her behavior, her hasty selfish choices, or her self-righteous attitude. All the reasons offered up for me to sympathize with her or pity her just made me dislike her more, wishing better for Garrett. This was a disappointing resolution to the series.

Epic Story!!

Reckless Reunion was everything and more! Samantha Christy sure knows how to rip your heart out and then put it back together in the best ways. Reckless Reunion is the third book in the Reckless Rockstar series. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon narrate this audio book.

Garrett is the drummer for Reckless Alibi, and just like the other members of the band, he also has a complicated and tragic past. Garrett also helps writes song lyrics for the band. Insert Reece, who is a blast from Garrett's past. Reece claims to have written, "Swerve" one of Reckless Alibi's latest hits. Reece has several stipulations when it comes to her song, and as the story progresses; Garrett and Reece reunite and their reunion is full of ups and downs.

Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon have been AMAZING through this entire series! Jason and Erin's performances as Garrett and Reece were raw and emotional! Jason sings (again), and gives so much life and passion to Christy's heartfelt lyrics! Erin Mallon is perfection as Reece, making you empathize with all her struggles to overcome the pain from her past. These two are always one clicks for me!

This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I didn't want to end. I devoured this audiobook quickly because I was completely consumed by the story. I cried and swooned loving every last bit of the book! I especially loved the epic epilogue that gives the reader an update on all the band members! Samantha Christy has quickly become one of my new favorite authors! I adored getting "reckless" with this series!
