Summary

If she can’t let go of the past, there won’t be a future for anyone.

Eighteen-year-old Raven is a thief with a disturbing past. Her life of pilfering expensive tech vaults on space freighters takes a nosedive when she finds a frightened 12-year-old boy on her newest stolen spaceship. In his possession is a glowing sphere he swears to protect at all costs.

Moved by the kid’s courage, Raven does the one thing she hasn’t done in a long time - she cares...a little. She allows him to stay aboard. What she doesn’t realize is that by doing so, she and the kid have become the most wanted individuals in the galaxy.

From the author of the Ashwater series and Fireflies trilogy, comes this new, dark interstellar adventure.

Fans of The Mandalorian and Firefly will devour this fast-paced novel by Melissa Koberlein.

Superb And Action Packed Adventure

I really enjoyed this book, I liked the fact that it had a really good story line with lots of enjoyable characters and was very fast paced, the story also stirred many emotions to my surprise.
I will definitely be looking up more of Melissa Koberlein's books to read.
The whole experience was massively enhanced by the excellent narration of Amy Deuchler who never fails to deliver.
I highly recommend this book to all Sci-fi fans.
I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased and objective review.

Raven rocks

I enjoyed this book but I did need tissues which was very unexpected. This is billed as a young teen so I was surprised to find swearing and hints of a sexual nature , this did not offend me but it might other listeners, you have be warned. Others wise I enjoyed the book, it contained a number of twists and plenty of action to keep you listening. I liked the strong female lead and the fact that she was a theif and was quiet often getting into trouble, her back story was nicely told as the story unfolded which helped explain why she is the way she is and why she was so fulfilling to help young boy, this went along way to making you like her. The rest of cast of characters were interesting and divise and I hope there is another book in the works, where Raven gets into just as much trouble.
Raven an 18 year old girl is about to get caught with stolen technology when she happens apon the spaceship that will change her life for ever. It is all after she is flying safely away that she makes the startling discovery that she is not alone on the stolen ship. A young boy who had just watched the rest of his people get massacred has taken refuge on the ship Raven has just stolen and In his hands he is griping the one thing that can destroy planets. Raven's head it telling her to sell it, she could get a lot of credits for it but her heart is telling to help protect the scared frightened young boy. Which will she listen to? And by helping the boy the last of his kind will she finally find the help she needs to save herself?
I really like the narrator and she was the main reason that I gave this book ago because I knew with Amy Deulchler reading the story I was in for a roller coaster of an adventure and I wasn't disappointed.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Brilliant. Very imaginative.

Thus is a great sifi, Raven is a perfect lead character for this story, its brilliantly written with a great amount of depth and detailing. the rest of the characters are perfectly suited, they all make this sifi more enjoyable.
It's imaginative and new. I will definitely be looking for more by this author.
the narration is flawless, Amy brings life to the story, giving a real believability quality.
A winning combo.

Adventures in Space lead to maturity

Our characters are young enough and naive enough that this is YA sci-fi. It is pretty clean with no more than a couple of kisses. Romping through space looks good in the first chapter or two... then the video game theme hits hard and we must dash about with our heroine to save the galaxy... even the universe. Our criminals turn out to have a heart of gold (well some of them). And we end up with a superhero too! I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a fair review

The description of the book drew me in....

This was a great book. I was sad to see it end really as the story was going so well.
Also, this book made me cry - which is actually a good thing in my world. (I had to take a break to give my poor heart time)
it had all the feels and I really wasn't expecting things to go the way they did there.

I will definitely be getting the next book in the series as I find this universe and its people's to be fascinating.
There are so many ways the books could go and I'm wondering what Melissa will pick.
I really really wanted to listen to this book and I had it on my wish list ready to buy however, in the end; this book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
p.s it has some language if you mind that kind of thing
