Summary
One summer changes their lives forever....
Alex Ellison is well-educated, rich, and good-looking. Too bad the ingredients of success haven’t mixed too well for him, and instead of having the world at his feet, Alex has, once again, landed himself in a hot mess of trouble.
The community service his father arranges for him in a wildlife center on the other side of the country comes as a bit of a nasty surprise, though. Being shipped off to middle-of-nowhere, Oregon, is not Alex’s idea of the perfect summer vacation. What Alex never expects is to meet Noah Price. He never expects to be noticed and understood. He never expects to feel valued and special. He never expects to fall in love.
Everything is not what it seems, though, and love that feels invincible turns out to be anything but. But love finds a way, and when Alex and Noah unexpectedly cross paths years later, they will have to risk it all for the love they both deserve and so desperately need.

Brilliant begining
The first third of the book is wonderful, but it goes downhill from there. The book doesn't go where you would expect and it certainly takes the ginger out of our hero.

Brilliant
What a wonderful book, major book hangover with this one.
Rare is a beautiful story of first love and second chances told in two parts with a time jump.
Alex and Noah are amazing characters and I loved reading about their story. It’s an adorable, heart breaking, heart warming and emotional read.
Briar Prescott is a fantastic writer and I can’t wait to hear more.

Super cool premise, but didn't quite get there
It had a very interesting background plot and I wish the romance would have taken more of a back seat in favour of this in the later half of the book. A national tragedy that requires a main character's imput is alluded to in the epilogue and I would have loved to see that scene actually play out. We missed out on an interesting internal conflict.
it's a fun book with a mystery twist, picks up speed towards the end and gets quite thrilling but never reaches the peaks it hyped you up for.

Not the same ole same ole
I enjoyed the uniqueness of this story line - it brought a little something extra of interest to the usual m/m romance novels. Also, brought a unique issue to the forefront that many may not have ever been aware.
The narration was good - two excellent narrators although I could have used a little more Alexander Cendese just since I love his rich and rough voice.
I had expected a pleasant m/m romance novel and instead received a book with more substance in the plot and more intensity within the characters. Highly recommend this book.

A cute, feel good book.
In this book you get some teenagers who have a sordid love affair. The reason for the breakup is unknown until years later when they reconnect. Alex and Noah go through their ups and downs, but they make it work. This book was just so cute!! I loved it!!

MM first love & second chance
This was such a wonderful deep and insightful. It was also jammed full of emotions. I loved both Alex and Noah and thought they were everything. This story was about first love, life after your first love, and then a second chance for the books. I know a lot did not particularly like the reunion being so nice and tidy, but I rather enjoyed that a lot and found it believable for this couple. My own niggle was I kind of wanted to see the in-between a bit. Maybe from Noah's POV, as we had only gotten Alex's at this point. I know it would have been painful, but I think it would have helped the reunion be even sweeter. I loved everything about this though and thought it was a wonderful book. The narration was superb, done by Alexander Cendese and Igga Toma. Definitely a must read.

Uplifting Love Story
I absolutely loved the way this story focuses on the good more than the sad. It depicts the relationship between the men with no homophobia or closeted drama which is so refreshing. Their story even segues into addressing some LGBTQ+ restrictions that are very outdated (no spoilers). I even googled it, and it is actually something that has changed in real world time. It keeps to the relevance of their love story and adds depth to the characters which again, is so refreshing. Loved it!!!

Great book!!!!
Sweet heart felt story with interesting twist. Alex is hard to like at first but by the end he has grown and easy to love. Noah is soft spoken at first but finds his voice with his happy. I love the ending and cause they fight for. This is one of my top books and will be listening to again.

MUST READ
One of the most unique books I’ve read. The author took some very real life issues, added in some current political issues, and very tastefully weaved a spectacular journey for the reader to take. Sometimes with romances you have to suspend belief, not with this story, it is raw and real. Then take the fact that she used two of my favorite narrators and it makes the story even better!
