About this listen

A world the gods forgot.

Of all the worlds and life they created, the gods favored their children the most. But with that favor came the fear that their Legacy would one day become too powerful and overthrow them. Devram was created. A realm hidden amongst the stars. The gods gave their Legacy the best of all the worlds, and then they left, a sworn agreement to never return and to never interfere.

A historical event.

Forced to a life of servitude, the Fae are required to provide for the Legacy in more ways than one. Every five years, the eligible Fae are gathered for the Selection and assigned to serve in one of the six Kingdoms. To be chosen as the personal Source for a Kingdom Heir is the greatest honor, and for the first time in a millennia, all six Kingdoms have heirs choosing a Source. But their selections could tip the power balance a little too far.

A chosen that was never meant to be.Tessalyn Asura was as forgotten as the realm. But when she finds herself the personal Source to the Heir of Endings, she winds up serving in the darkest Kingdom of them all. The secrets within the Arius Kingdom are meant to be learned and kept, but this was never the life she wanted. Fighting not only the fate thrust upon her, but the temptation to lose herself to desire, Tessa will do anything to escape her new destiny. Until she starts to realize maybe their world wasn’t as forgotten as they thought, and maybe she’s the reason why.

Rain of Shadows and Endings is book one in The Legacy Series and ends on a cliffhanger. This is new adult dark fantasy romance series and includes elements that may be triggering to some listeners.

Great world building for what is set to be a fantastic series, I look forward to read the other books. I found the duet style good but a little jarring when the male and female voices would perform the other ones spoken lines. Also the females accent seemed to change throughout the book.

Great world building

I’m in love with Luca’s voice and his saying ffs is my favourite saying too, excellent narrating, well done everyone 😍

Loved this book, I was hooked from the beginning. I also bought the physical copy to read along. This book is so well narrated, the voices that these talented readers can do is brilliant! Both Laura and Christian brought the story to life. The plot is fantastic and the detail of the characters facial expressions and internal thoughts also brings them to life, superbly written. It’s real in depth and fascinating world building from the get go. I’m going straight onto the second book!

Talented narrators incredible plot

personally I found the story thrilling, and the narration was great I also loved lady of darkness too so if you liked that you'll love this.

I loved this.

Enjoyed the storyline and most of the narration, but I’m so confused by the awful British accents the fae have. It doesn’t say anywhere in the book that they’re British so can only assume it was a direction choice. It’s grating and sounds like someone who’s had bad elocution lessons (and the male narrator struggles badly with it) it makes Tessa sound whiny and obnoxious, it really influenced my feelings towards her. (I’m British btw). However I’ve got used to it, (kind of) and looking forward to book two. I love both narrators normal voices.

It’s original

Obsessed with this from the get go and can’t wait for the next ones BUT! Why oh why do male narrators insist on doing the WORST female voices? It’s bad enough that the fae are always given terrible “British” accents but made ten times worse by the male narrator. If you ignore that, the book is bloody good 🤌🏼

LOVE THIS!

I'm interested to find out what happened next. there's a slow burn..the FMC is strong willed, which is good but this does slip into annoying several times throughout the story. if the second book is similar, and there's no character growth, I wouldn't finish the series.

annoying but intriguing

Here we have such feat— “a great story”
I could not stop listening. Unique in many ways except for the Fae part. However, unique. Exciting. Suspenseful. Twist & turns, a few one can see coming & others not so much. Irrespective amazing story The writing here was very exceptional! Third person (my favy) the Narration was everything-Lara Horowitz-is an amazing reader, that’s what got me buying the book…

A Gem!!! 5 stars ⭐️ on all fronts. The English accents were lovely.

This story would not exist if everyone COMMUNICATED.

I liked the ending though, I did not expect certain elements.

Lack of communication
