Plus, there's a kidnapped princess in need of rescue! Because of course there is! This is a fantasy series after all, and we haven't done one of those yet. How does an imprisoned princess relate to Waldo's efforts to land a dragon's egg or dragon? There's only one way to find out.

I enjoyed the story but where is the rest? Is there another series or a sequel or did the author run out of ideas? The ending is so far up in the air it may be on another planet. Not good enough!!!

I stumbled on this series of books by accident and I’m so glad I did. The stories are well thought up and have a mix of everything. The narration though is what makes them. The laugh out loud moments are plentiful with the different voices played to perfection. Cannot wait for the next instalment

I’ve listened to all 5 Waldo books now and absolutely loved them. As a Pratchett fan I really like twists to regular expectations when it comes to fantasy creatures. I also appreciate when more depth, background and context are provided to explain character motivations & choices.

These books provide all that and I feel like there could easily be another 15 books with the amount of questions that have been raised so far.

Who is Waldo’s father? How did Luna get her injuries? Can she be healed & fly before Waldo is claiming his pension? What is Lilith really up to? Will submissive Gronk find his Dom 😂 and will that person (please) be a certain female warrior? Will Alice be accepted as Waldo’s wife by his mother? Will Alice ever accept him having other partners or will any female showing an interest mysteriously choose to ‘jump’ to their deaths from a great height? What will his dead grandfather’s & zombie brother’s ultimate fates be? How will the inevitable Mage war pan out - will the dragons rise up to get involved? Will relentlessly evangelical Melissa end up as the zealous ruler of her people & convert Waldo? Or, will the love potion eventually wear off and she will become his, and by extension Lileth’s and Alice’s, mortal enemy?

Then there are the numerous spin off potentials. Lileth’s back story especially re: the birth of Waldo & his dad, her belligerent vampire familiar and her rise to the top spot in the 7 families. Gronk’s back story. Luna’s back story. The ancient story of the Great War with the worldwide destructive dragon power. Who the dark gods actually are. Who the ‘one who is served’ actually is etc. etc.

I thank the author for writing such an inventive & original set of characters & stories to entertain us all with. I hope he is still enjoying writing these characters enough to carry on. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that he can continue & expand this wonderfully funny & quirky saga. I for one will definitely buy everything he writes & heartily recommend these audiobooks.

I loved and listened to all the books in the space of a couple of days. To my surprised this last book doesn’t hit the spot has the last four. It feels like the story has been fast forwarded for the sake of fitting in the book. I wish the author re edits this book…

I really enjoy the story and the narrator is excellent. I hope audible will soon publish the recently released 6th book. I only wish the books would be sold bundled, they're a bit short for the amount they cost.

So I listen to all 5 books and kinda hoped that the MC would well become a mc. but no he still is pushed around by his "wife" and not any stronger. sad... had potential.
I like the dark humor. but most "funny conversation" fell reused by now.
oh and personal preference but the "wifes" morals are reeeal anoying.
