Summary

Sisters. Mothers. Lovers. Warriors.

In ancient Themiscyra, Hippolyte rules as Queen of the Amazons. Feared throughout Greece, their skills on the battlefield are unrivalled. But when a ship lands on their shores, it brings something more dangerous than the threat of war. It brings a future Hippolyte could never have dreamed of.

Swept away to Athens, Hippolyte learns a love that transcends even the bond of the Amazon women. But can she forget her warrior past and forge a new life?

With her sister gone, Penthesilea is left with no choice but to rise as the new Amazon Queen. Forgoing her sister's compassion and wisdom, Penthesilea rules with impulsiveness and ferocity that sparks terror throughout the aegean.

But when Hippolyte's world starts to crumble it is up to Penthesilea to decide how far she will go to defend their honour, family and way of life.

If you are a fan of epic tales, powerful female characters, and mythology retellings you are going to love the latest book in Hannah Lynn's Grecian Women Series.

Engaging and well-narrated story

I really enjoyed this book and a good job by narrator! The story is well written, well paced and well told. I listened to it on my summer vacation and it was great.

Epic

Such a turbulent and gripping read. Beautifully written, piercing through several stories in Greek mythology giving yet another character perception and layer of complexity. This book covers all bases and is a true epic.

Beautiful

l loved this book. The amazons have fascinated me since l played Oberon in MSND at school, and thought how typically mysoginistic Shakespeare was. l didn't think much of the premis that he was shining a light on inequality.
But we hear so much of Hypolyta. l've always been drawn to Pantethilia and loathed Theseus, so this was perfect.
the story was perfect, the characters real, the plot superb, the narrator faultless. l'll be watching out for this writer eagerly in the future. she joins Natalie Haynes, Jennefer Saint et al amongst the greats. sorry. dyslexic, but l hope you get my point.

Really enjoyed this book! Storytelling at its finest. All the characters are flawed, beautiful and well constructed.

Epic and tragic

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the half-dozen or more books that I've listened to in the Grecian Woman Series. This was no exception. Excellent storylines and credible characters. This was more extensive in scope than most of this series, which I found more engaging. Excellent narration that facilitated discrimination between the characters and add depgh to their personalities. Frequently hard to stop listening anc now the difficult choice of what to listen to next!
