About this listen

Dorina Basarab is a dhampir - the feared and hated cross between a vampire and a human - or so she has always believed. She spent most of her life on the fringes of her two worlds, yearning to belong to one or the other, but despised and distrusted by both. Recently, a war in the supernatural community allowed her to get a foothold into her vampire father's world, one of danger, intrigue, glitz, and glamour, where she found not only a home, but a lover, too. For the first time in centuries, life seemed to be going her way. But now, an incident with a dangerous magical device has left her two natures separated into duplicate bodies, both fighting to survive while they search for the truth about their past and the key to their future.

Contains mature themes.

Another great adventure

Liked this better than the last few as the plot definitely moves on and a few things are explained and new avenues appear

Queens Gambit

I absolutely love Dory and now I love Dorina too although she is completely different . The story was non stop . I have all Karen Chance books and I love them all . I loved the narration....you could tell the girls were very different and sounded very different too .Ray was fabulous just how I imagined he would sound like . I laughed at his cussing. Please please use the same narrator for Dory’s previous adventures because I would love to hear them .

This series started off so good...

Now it is getting more boring with each book though. I'd already decided I was done with the Cassandra one (which I only read because of Dorina) but now will quit this one too; there are a lot of battles, but no progress in the story.

The narrator was good, but she sounded way too old for the main character (even though Dorina in 500 years old 😉)
