narration was a bit monotonous but good in the end if you are into science topics

This was tough going, concepts I found hard to grasp but as a mental workout it was great. I will listen to this again in the future and see if time helps in digesting the concepts. If your looking for unconventional this is the one.

I did science at university and got top grade for physics at A level but I found this book at times difficult to understand and one of the examples to explain the science just did not make sense to me I had hoped for some ideas for explaining it all to my grandchildren OK things have moved on since my day but I have been involved in education ever since ....

Not as clear as hoped

First a journey through the micro, in the realm of the atom. Then the macro and the laws of physics and our understanding of nature. Finally Cosmology and the theories that may take humanity to the stars.
Einstein – posed the questions from observations made and formulated theories that have help us know more about the universe
As Einstein questioned gravity and how that applies in space and identified the 4th dimension of space-time, a whole new theory of space distortion around mass which brings a better understanding to cosmos and makes the creation of the universe something that now meets with all the theories that our leaned scientists have proposed over the years.
A fantastic stepping stone to our knowledge of the universe, how it began, how it behaves and eventually how it may end.
Add to this subject the narration of Clive Mantle and here’s a book that is more than worth a listen. I found myself repeating chapters so I could re-enforce what had been read to me.
Very listenable and without having to do the mathematics that was used to validate the theory, I now have a better understanding of Einstein's work and his resulting theories.

Really clears the air of mystery around the quantum world. the narrative is beautifully woven to reveal the various threads of physics and maths that lead to the quantum world this demystifying an area of 0 science that has an air of complicatedness around it.
The narrator is brilliant, has a pleasing and engaging tone and sounds like he knows what he's talking about. A brilliant must read for all, especially if you like science.

I did a course on quantum but this made more sense. Didn't understand it all but it actually did make more sense than before. Except it really doesn't make sense at all.

This book will tell you that you can be in two places at once, but I would just be in one place when listening, you might miss a very important bit! At no point during my time with this book did I find myself in two places, well I don't think I was.
I did find myself taking an extra deep breath when told that I was breathing atoms once touched by Marilyn Monroe.

I would suggest to those listeners who do not have a grounding or prior knowledge in quantum physics you may want to be in a fairly quiet place devoid of distractions.
I found myself chuckling on the tube thus drawing a few strange looks from my fellow travellers.
Some of the theories do take some head scratching and leaps of academic faith to grasp, some are just beyond my level of intellect, but they are all hugely entertaining.

A great 'listen/read'.

One of the best explanations of quantum theory and the interrelationships between the sub atomic and the macro, visible worlds I've heard and without going into the theoretical mathematics of it all. Quite brilliant!
