Summary

For Landon Greene, managing the band Carter’s Creed is more than just a job. It also means being there to keep his brother safe. When someone begins sending threatening letters to Carter, Landon feels overwhelmed with the need to protect him. He’s relieved when new security is added, until he finds out that the person hired to protect his brother is the same man Landon has spent months trying to forget. Micah Hamilton recently moved back to Chicago to start his own security firm and to be closer to his best friend, Giovanni. He’s ready to leave his past as a Navy SEAL behind and settle into his new life, but his plans change when a friend calls and asks him for a favor. There’s no way Micah can refuse the request, even though he knows it will require him to face the one man he’s vowed to stay away from. Can Landon and Micah put their differences aside in time to save Carter or will their pride leave him at the mercy of a madman? Will they continue to resist the undeniable chemistry between them or will they take a chance and possibly find the greatest love they’ve ever known?

Protecting the Soul is the third book in the Souls of Chicago series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but is best read as part of the series.

This book contains sexually explicit materials and is only intended for adults 18 and older.

Fantastic story and narration

I love this series and getting to hear it on audible is even better. Michael Pauley does full justice to the characters and the story line. It's full of emotion, with both Landon and Micah have both bad experiences in their past and big trust issues however with a threat against Carter out there, Landon's stressed and Micah's the man to care for him and the situation.
I fully recommend this whole series and I'm so happy that Landon got his HEA after reading his twin bother's getting theirs in books one and two. This is a family that you can properly fall in love with and the relationship and connection that emerges between Landon and Micah.
Again, Michael Pauley is brilliant in his narration. From the first few sentences, you're hooked into the story and his voice just carries you along.

Wow!!!!

Michael Pauley knocked it out of the park once again. Micha and Landon are one of my favourite couples in this series and I absolutly love their story. Michael did an amazing job bringing them both to life. You really get to hear the emotion of the scene and that makes it even better.

Wrong narrator for this book

I love this story, it happens to be one of my favorite ones in the series. I love Landon and how idk, realistic he comes across. Fighting anxiety and panic attacks while having to be in control, makes him very real. Micah, he was ok too.

The issue I had, as always when this narrator performs is well, his performance. I can not begin to imagine what person who lives in LA (as the narrator does) cannot pronounce “my name is” in Spanish correctly, not to mention how he butchered all the other words said in Spanish. A simple google search would have helped with that. Also, his British accent is pretty much none, so that was awful too. Then there the monotone, running out of breath and hurrying the sentences to be able to finish in those breaths, yet at the same time sounding super nasal. Ah if only I could get the Michael Pauley that narrated Torkel’s Chosen many years ago. Such a different and much better experience.

Beautiful!

Love love love this books so much! Michael Dean is doing an incredible job as usual. One complaint though: half of chapter 6 is a repeat of half of chapter 5. Very weird. Wondering if it’s the error is only in my download all over audiobook. Thanks Annabella and Michael! Rock on stay safe!!

Yesss

I enjoyed this one just as much. Now all the brothers are happy. Landon and Micah what can I say. It was interesting that all three men who fell in love with the brothers were only children. They got a new family to be welcomed into. Love it.

Protective Love

Landon is the perfect big brother – he’s protective, loving, caring, and knows how to manage them without interfering with their independence. Micah works in security so protection is something he knows very well. What he and Landon can’t protect against, nor denied, is the sizzling chemistry between the two of them. These men are HOT together. Add in the suspense and mystery of a dangerous stalker to the hot romance and this book was hard for me to put down.

Michael Pauley did such a great job with the audiobook. His performance was outstanding and he did such a great job with the pacing of the story without compromising the quality of the voices he narrated.

Overall Rating: 5 Stars. I loved the writing style of this book. The story was easy to read and had me wrapped up in the drama and suspense of the plot that I devoured this book as fast as I could. The characters were likeable and I became invested in their lives and happiness.

A Good Protector

This was book 3 in the "Souls of Chicago" series. This is a hot book cover Landon Greene is the manger of Carter's Creed and he is also Carter's older brother. When Carter begins getting stalker fan mail the recorder label hires some new security Micah Hamilton. Landon and Micah who is Giovanni's bestfriend also most hooked up and Caleb and Giovanni's bachelor party. Micah is a hot sexy former navy Seal who comes home after going through something horrible he comes home to start his own security firm. Turns out the letters have been causing Landon to have panic attacks he wasn't eating or sleeping and it was starting to show. This was a really good read and listen Micah and Landon have some hot chemistry when these two hook up all the way this time it was hot. As these two begin to spend more time with each other they find that they like spending time together, but both of them have demons in their past that haunt them. Turns out the stalker is not after Carter but Landon and when he tells them about the things in his past he feels so ashamed and that his family and friends won't forgive him Landon had an affair with one of his professor who turned out to be married although he broke up with the man Kyle and stalked him until he left school. Micah fell more in love with Landon he told him about his past as well he was an abused as a kid and ended up living with Giovanni and his family. I loved how the Greene opened up their heart and accepted Micah as one of their sons. When they figured out who was stalking Landon he was kidnapped and almost killed but Micah did what he had to do to protect his man. This was a really good read and a good edition to this series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I really want to find out what's going on with Rocko.

Beyond Incredible!!

I absolutely love this story. I was thrilled to get Landon's story and I am so happy with his HEA. Micah and Landon are spectacular together, their chemistry is sizzling hot and they each give the other what they need. I love watching their relationship grow and how protective Micah is with Landon. They each have issues but they work through them together and have a great HEA that is so well deserved for both of these incredible men. I really hope the next book comes out in audio soon, I can't wait to listen to it. The narrator is absolutely amazing. He truly brings the story to life and makes you feel like yiu are right there with the characters.

Another great read by Annabella!!

If you enjoyed the first two, then this one will definitely not disappoint you. Although its the same style of writing, the story is completely different from the first two. The characters overlap a bit so that's nice. Story has some twists and turns but at the end it's HEA. Michael Pauley is simply amazing... once again! Many hot scenes... if you're into that??? Hell ya! ;)

Love this series!!

I've read the e-book of this story and absolutely loved it! The audiobook is just as amazing. Michael Pauley does a fantastic job differentiating between the characters and bringing out the emotions behind this story. Annabella Michaels is truly talented and her stories and characters are addicting. Absolutely loved hearing this story come to life.
