Summary

"We are all monsters here...."

Celestine is a land of beauty and horror where the heroic souls of men are tempted to fall from heights mere mortals were never meant to attain.

Terrence Mack has managed to survive in this brutal world, gathering bonds of great power and ability, passing trials and tribulations that would crush lesser men. Yet his own unwillingness to let others share his burdens may be his undoing, and his greatest challenges are yet to come.

To even reach his destiny, Terry must once again cross the Wildervast, a dream world where desires rule fate. He must survive the machinations of the Mother of Monsters, satisfy the Mistress of Weavers, and come face to face with a man who surpasses him in every way.

His enemy has lived for thousands of years, risen to virtual godhood whilst bent on destroying the world. Terry promised to end that threat, yet the sacrifices he's made have left him vulnerable and the greatest threat to his ultimate success may lie not within the Dust Lord...but himself.

Perfect ending

The perfect ending to an awesome tale. It's sad to see it go, but it's much worse to let it flow forever. it was a fitting and satisfying ending.

Great ending of a great story.

Overall there was a really good ending. Last book was really really good, and still the worst of the series but not as good as the rest of them. But it was an ending to a great journey. Can always be better and below with some spoilers I will tell why. SPOILERS!!

Well my first problem was not that some where left behind as I thought it would be. Prada had always been there Supporting him in her own way, but in this last one it felt like she fell away forgotten from time to time. Euryale going batshit when she saw Athena is understandable, but her forgetting Terry feels weird. Fight against Thomas was not great but that was still expected, guy had over thousend bonds and were really powerful. But the last part with Koschei was just bad. Didnt like the character from the start, he should have been the forgotten midboss that he was. I understand the need to give Terry the magic knowledge he needed but he could have gotten the knowledge from baba-yaga or something. Dude got more then enough mental problems as it is.

Skadi's love felt weird but I was okay with it, it was forced with his power but I guess they will get together from time to time. As a nord myself I like that they used some Norse mythology aswell. Liked that they used Skadi as a character and even told the tale of the sword Tyrfing. And mingle it into a story with titans and olympia. Overall a great mix.

My biggest problem was not meeting Shy in the entire book. I understand why, I really do, but as my favorite character I still wanted more of her. I felt like I could fall in love with Tess Irondale from just listning to her narrating Shy alone. Ofc just "seeing" her in her treeform had to do since I understand why, just wished we could have met there little dryad daughters. And last but not least.. Why did they not let him meet his glorious Dragon Asturial, why did they just leave her out of it. Okey it worked since we know they would meet again in a few days or weeks, but I still would have prefered to them meeting one last time in the end. Maby let her know the gift he got from Euryale and that they could be together a long long time. Just wanted her loving reaction.

All that said I still really liked the book, the series was fantastic and I will really miss the characters. Tess Irondale has really done a great job, and it was the first time I liked a woman narrating. Its not that all men do good reading, I had just never found a woman who did a good job, but now I have. I even think the is my number one narrator tbh and I will stat listning to her other work.

Favorite characters was
1. Shy
1.1 Prada
3. Euryale
3.2 Asturial
5. Mila
5.5 Najaha
7. Leyna
8. Skadi
9. Arachne
10. His pet Eyedemon.
11. Nightmare i always forget the name of
12. Hola, I really didnt like the Oni.

This was a great ending

I love the way the series has ended but I would have liked to see in the epilogue where it's in the future I would see terrance and his kids

End to the series

My review might seem harsh, I liked this series despite its obvious flaws. If you want an 18 rated RPGlit and are ok to suspend your disbelief. Then you will find this incredible, if not.... well the fact you have made it to book 6 you will probably enjoy it.
