About this listen
Six rare powers govern the land of Adamah. Possessing one demands entrance to the king's army. To refuse means death.
For hundreds of years, dark clouds covered the skies of Adamah, and an ageless king ruled. Those who emerged with one of six extraordinary Shay powers were forced into the king's army, an unmatched force with inhuman strength, speed, accuracy, perception, empathy, and healing. With the army behind him, the king - a man who wields all six abilities - was invincible and unquestioned in his rule.
To most, serving the king was an honor. But for others, it was a fate worse than death. When 17-year-old Nolan Trividar witnesses the transformation of his brother from kind to cruel after entering the king's army, he vows never to follow the same path.
Powers of the Six take you to another world where the smallest person can do extraordinary things, the undead infest the night, and the sun emits more than just warmth and light.

Overall an engaging and enjoyable listen
I received this book free but give my own honest review:
On the whole I really enjoyed this book, The book takes its time to build up the characters and the world they are set in, there are 6 ‘powers’ , one of which can appear in some individuals- They are Strength, Accuracy, Healing, Empathy, Perception, and Speed. But if you do have them you have to go to work for the king that governs the lands.
Nolan and Alec (the main characters) meet and go on an epic adventure together to go their own way; it’s really nice seeing this trust and friendship develop.
The story has some epic fantasy elements and kept my interest.
The one negative part for me was the fact that the only ‘LGBT+’ type Character element that appears to have any mention in the book is a villain- (I’m not against this in a character per-say, but I do find it disappointing when there’s only a single one and it’s the bad guy and all others appear heterosexual).
I listen to this as an audiobook and at the time of writing this review there isn’t the second audiobook otherwise I will be buying it and listening to it, I may have a look for the kindle edition and find some time to read what happens next.

.Magic,Myth,Magnificent .
This was my first from Kristal Shaff and Gary Furlong ,Waw what a team ! and what an introduction!!! Wow. So deep, complex, gripping, riddled with a dark dirty underworld of secrets..Have to read more for Kristal soon ... I am Hooked!
Now the story, oh my goodness i was not expecting this at all, so intense, so gripping, so emotional, so awe inspiring.Every once in a while, a book comes along that shatters your expectations. Case in instance is a book so explosive and intense, deeply enthralling and equally disturbing. A book you'll proudly hold dear And to have this book ,a master piece in Magic ,Myth and the supernatural. So complex was the groundwork of the kings rule and his army's powers and transformations that I had to listen to a few chapters again to grasp its enormity. This is one of the best books I have listened to period .
I was hanging on every word spoken, I couldn't wait to listen more, Grabbing every chance to If you are a fan of this genre ... actually even if you are not I would sugest you listen to this book.
Loved the ending.... loved it, I had to do a sort of double take as in OMG 'What is going to happen with them?' I can not wait to listen to the sequel. Gary Furlong was ineradicable he pulled feelings from me like a Master. Spellbinding. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. As always This review is my honest opinion. There is so far to go with this series I just can't wait !

Epic Fantasy is reborn
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I had to give this one my highest rating because it was a story that pulled you in from word one and didn't let you go until the end. Both the author and the narrator did a wonderful job. The author in creating a world so well that you feel as if you are living there and the narrator for bringing it to life with such passion. The whole thing was reminiscent of the best of the sword and sorcery epic stories such as The Drenai Saga, The Earthsea Trilogy, Elric, or Tales of the Eternal Champion yet it is also so fresh and new that it was a lovely change to read it and know that there are more of the same to come.

Pleasantly surprised!
Any additional comments?
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I was hooked from the beginning of the book, which is a good thing because there are not that many books/audio out their that hook me from the start.
The one thing I was not expecting was the violence (torture and bulling) however they were not graphic and it did not put me off the book. There is rape in this book (which occurs behind doors) against both females and males from the same perpetrator which I did not believe in. Not the rape part but of why the character did it especially after we find out who that person is. I know it is to do with control but I still would like to know why they would even consider that act. In my opinion it did not fit in with the character.
However, overall I really liked it and there are a few twists in this book which I was not expecting.

An Amazing Read
In a world where religion is shown by the powers of Brin, and those given the gifts of light are revered above others but whose world is still a unforgiving and cruel place to live.
Some resistance to the ruling powers is to be expected but salavation is to be found for maybe everyone in those who run from their powers and those who want to respect their brin given powers rather than abuse them and to serve the people.
The typical unknown hero soon develops and with more twists and turns happening each moment to keep this usual story fresh and exciting with a top class narrator making audible worth its price.
I can't wait for the next episode in the series.
This story was gifted to me in exchange for my honest and unbiased review and as such is my own opinion.

not the best
I dont know how there isn't a single bad review but I've been listening for a good 4 hours and the mc has used his power all of one time. at first I thought I'd missed a chapter somehow, the story started in the middle of a scene with no explanations on background or power. I have no clue who the main character is, what his powers are (he doesnt use them) and to be honest it's just boring

Battle weary
This began so well but within two hours of the end the battles became meaningless and acted as filler. The lurking misogyny became totally unbearable. I'd think the story was wrapping up but another chapter would start and my heart would sink. In the end I was wishing they'd all just die...until I realized most of them had, at least once and some of them twice.
