Maggie's latest case is an unidentified female in her early teens, discovered in a local cemetery. More shocking than the girl's injuries - for Maggie at least - is the fact that no one has reported her missing. She and the detectives assigned to the case (including her cop ex-husband) are determined to follow every lead, run down every scrap of evidence. But the monster they seek is watching every move, closer to them than they could possibly imagine.

Won't bother again
I can't understand how Patricia Cornwall has achieved such success. Nothing gripped me in this novel suffice to say I can't even recall most of it.
A different narrator may have improved things a tad as I found Lorelei's monotone drawl nothing short of irritating.

intriguing murder story
This is the first time I've read Patricia Cornwell and I plan to read more. A bit remeniscent if some if the Bones books and some of the writing is 'of its time', but it kept me gripped until the end. Lorelei King is great narrator.

Great book, not sure about parts of the narration
I read this (and many of the others in the series) years ago when it first came out, and thought I would revisit it in audio form. Still an excellent book, but I am not sure about the narrator here. I did find some of the voices that Lorelei King uses in the narration a little grating, especially that of Marino and Lucy. Still very enjoyable though and I would recommend it.
