Summary
Much like accountants, fey never forget a debt.
Just as Fred is settling down in his new abode, he receives word that a favor is being called in, one he promised to a dangerously powerful member of otherworldly royalty. Bracing danger, adventure, and unknown threats, Fred is instead asked to take on an entirely different role than anticipated.
Acting as interim professor at one of the few universities for supernatural entities, Fred will have to navigate a strange environment, eccentric coworkers, and unenthusiastic students. Yet that alone won't be enough, for this college has more history than the tales in its tomes.
Remnants of the past that could put Fred, and his students, in mortal peril.

Fred goes to college was decent
This was a nice collection of stories. It involved Fred teaching at college and most of the gang show up at some point in support. Asha doesn't make an appearance though which is a shame as she's one of my favourites. I also wish we'd seen a bit more of Fred actually teaching, that was skipped over almost entirely.
The format otherwise was a little bit predictable and although I love the series I wonder how much mileage can come from Vampire Accountant + Normal Situation => Unusual Situation + Power of Friendship.
The setting was well described and the characters had as much depth as ever. I still really enjoyed the book but I wouldn't say it's the strongest entry in the series. The narration was brilliant.

Fred continues to impress
I've been a fan of this series for years and the new release is always a highlight for me. it did feel a little bit random and also a little short. there is a fair amount of setup for the next one so I will be looking out for that .

The Drewverse now has a Hogwarts Arc. Though...
Drew hayes finally added a school element to the story. I know that it might not be necessary. Most of the main characters are above college age. But with a world full of different parahumans (mages, lycanthropes, and other supernatural creatures) in all ages, I partly expected but wasn't hoping for a school for said parahumans But here it is and I find stories of it...could've been better.
Make no mistake, i enjoyed the book, i just wished they were some parts they could've added more background or substories on. Whenever the stories discusses about accounting, they mostly just skip over it or just talk of it in passing, but I would've liked to hear some stories of how Fred taught his class and how he improved his students (like most school setting where the main character is the teacher and the students are unmotivated or the oddballs of the school)
Though finding certain secrets of the parahuman school is par of the course for most fantasy school, the book as a whole felt short despite it having the same length as the previous books. It's like a whole semester in whole was condensed in only a few short weeks. As well as some of the main cast importance was downplayed (e.g. bubba, lilian and even gregor)
Overall, good read/listen, just wished they could've added more depth on the school and class aspects

HBO needs to turn this into a show
Well hello there, fellow fans of the blood eater known as Fred. Prepare yourself for the next series of stories, equally as enjoyable as the previous iterations! Beware, college holds many lessons to learn, but there might also be very exciting things to take away from these tales. You might even finally get some insights into what Arch is..
Kirby does magic again, and this listen was a joy for me to marathon.

I know Fred.
My family knows to leave me alone when a new Fred book comes out. NPCs, Super Powereds and Even the Damaged Detective are excellent engaging tales, but Frederick Franklin Fletcher is my friend. I look forward to the time I spend with him and his clan. The world would be a better place with more Fred.

Another great addition to the world of Fred!
Consistently fun as always. I really enjoyed the change of scenery going to the para-human collage and the new characters that were being introduced as well as the hints at new possible relationships 😉 Love it!

Another great story and an awesome series.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, yet loves a lighter side of reading. Once again, another good story in this really excellent series. I really really loved it.

Strong fun and developing
It’s been so long since the last book. I was worried this might have been a dud. It wasn’t, characters retained there nature. The story had good writing and was thought out. Same narrator too. I hope to see the next installment sooner though. Overall well written and executed.

Fred is always good but this one is great
I love fred always have. The books are always funny, and I love how awkward Fred is, but this one was amazing. I appreciate that we got a whole new side of this character and what he can do in his world. we got a little bit of most of the side characters. didn't get any Asha. But Fred getting to do something with younger parahumans was great. I will say I cried in this one. That last story broke me and Fred still grieving as the end it was super said, especially since we haven't really had any super horrific things in past books. Drew did an amazing job, and Kirby, as always, was great.
