Fascinating but grim

You really need to read these books in order to understand Cornwell's meticulous character and plot development. A very fascinating if grim read with truly excelent narration as ever.

Brilliant!

Such a good book. Best in the Scarpetta series so far (I am working my way through the series). Kept me on edge and had some really emotional parts. You really care about the characters and become emotionally involved with them. Such a good book and read very well.

Pure Genius.

The descriptive power of Cornwell’s pen, coupled with King’s performance, makes this novel memorable on manifold fronts. Simply put, it is outstanding!

Even though I read this series back in the 90's...

I had completely forgotten what happened at the end and was caught off guard. I cried so hard. My heart ached for an imaginary character. Nothing seems to go Kay's way. Even Lucy, in my opinion, has turned out to be a disappointment in which Kay feels responsible for. Poor Kay.
