If you could sum up Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen in three words, what would they be?

Treachery, politics and romance.Elizabeth of York as a pawn and a leader makes you want to listen through to the end of this audio-book. As a non-historian I was pleasantly surprised by the way this book held my attention and led me through the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen?

I kept forgetting that this is ultimately a true story. When Elizabeth married Henry VII I was excited to find out what happened next and then realised I already knew! The plotting and politics were fascinating to hear and listening to the plot unravel with such speed made for a great story. I would recommend this to anyone interested in this era and to anyone who .

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The childrens' births were well told and I was intrigued by the favours bestowed upon such unlikely shoulders for the sake of politics

Rachael Beresford's gentle tones kept me intrigued and entertained. Her accent reminded me of the true English nature of the text and the historical importance of the story. A wonderful, flowing portrayal of one of the most famous eras of English history.

A real life historical romance

I knew little about this part of our medieval history until I joined Audible. Everyone recognises old Henry 8th but his ancestry is fascinating and his mother Elizabeth of York is especially so. Samantha Wilcoxson does a fantastic job of bringing her to life. By the end of the book I felt I knew Elizabeth and she will now always be a real human being to me rather than a two dimensional footnote to these troubled times. This is a superb book that gives the lady the credit she deserves. The author says she had to use her imagination to put together the story of this queen’s life but I don’t think she altered the historical account, she imagined her personality from what she researched in the historical account and projected an inspired story telling of her life and especially her relationship with Henry7th her husband. If she had lived to be an old lady, I wonder if she would have been a positive influence on her son Henry. She should be eulogised as one of the most important women of the medieval period at a time when women were merely baby makers and the property of their fathers and husbands. Loved this book. The narrator, Rachel Beresford does a superb job too, handling all the difficult regional accents brilliantly.

Narrator really got on my nerves with her floury interpretation. Love this era but simply couldn’t listen to any more.

The narrator made this sound like a dull documentary. even having turned the volume down, it felt like she's was shouting. No emotion in her voice might as well be reading a shopping list. I really wanted to listen to this series, but sadly, I could not get past character 4 😬
