Summary

Amanda Beiler could never have imagined the course her life would take when she happened to meet Alejandro Diaz. After catching the eye of the Cuban superstar, she hesitantly decides to leave her small Amish community in order to save it from the relentless attention of the paparazzi. Away from her close-knit family and the familiar rituals of her faith for the first time, Amanda goes on tour with the famous singer, and as she begins to see the world under Alejandro's care, she starts to appreciate life beyond the boundaries of home. Meanwhile, Alejandro is changing, too, and remembering what it feels like to be with someone who wants him despite - not because of - his celebrity.

As their connection grows stronger and their differences shrink, Amanda will have to make a difficult choice: Return to her old life among the Plain, or stay in the limelight with the man she loves?

Good follow up to book one.

Nice, fun take on Amish fiction as Amanda gets a look at the English world. The more I get to know her love interest, I'm not sure I like him. We will see what book 3 brings! Recommended if you like Amish fiction.

4.5 Stars!

Plain Change continues where Plain Fame left off and is equally as entertaining. Sarah Price has done a fantastic job of combining the two cultures of Alejandro and Amanda. Many things ring true of what both main characters encounter and experience as they get to know each other better, as well as their different worlds. I did have some frustrations, at times, with Amanda's lack of communication. Especially, when those times could have been moments for Amanda to explain more about her faith and why she believes - scriptural and morally. Aside from that, I still found the story compelling and romantic. I'm devoted to this series, now and looking forward to the next. Also, always a wonderful listen with the narrator of this series.

Love is in the air

In this book Amanda is introduced to Alejandro's world. The shopping scene reminded me of Pretty Woman except Amanda wasn't a willing participate. This book I felt wasn't as good as the first, one of the reasons was because Amanda constantly had flashbacks of her life on the farm and to me I don't feel like it helped or added anything to the book. With that being said, I still think this was a 5 star book.

You will definitely fall in love with Alejandro yourself, he is my favorite character. The narrator does such a good job making him sound like the latin lover he is!

A Series to Remember!

This series messes with your life. You can't stop thinking about the characters, since they are excellently portrayed by the author. It is so real and down to earth, that you feel like you have met them somewhere or another. Probably, the best series I have read in a long time. It is delightfully better as an audiobook. I salute the narrator for a job well done. What a treat!

I can't get my work done!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would certainly recommend this audiobook to anybody who enjoys a good romance story. I was never into romances and ordered this because I am "English" who grew up in Amish country. I can't get my work done because I am so immersed in this story, giving the reader my full attention for too many hours in the day.

What did you like best about this story?

Amanda returned to her home when she was needed, not forsaking her family for her new life with her husband.

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her delightful tone of voice as she reads the different characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Ha Ha Ha That is for sure and certain!

Any additional comments?

I am now going for the third book in the series. I am thinking I will hate it when I finally have listened to all of them.

Had to Hear More

Would you consider the audio edition of Plain Change to be better than the print version?

I'm certain that hearing the voices and accents of the characters bring this book to life. Amy McFadden did an incredible job at narration.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alejandro is my favorite because he is so compassionate and charming. He has so much patience with Amanda and such acceptance for her way of life. He is such a superstar but is so human and unaffected by his fame. He doesn't forget where he comes from and what his circumstances were growing up.

Which scene was your favorite?

When we found out what happened to Amanda's brother. We kept hearing about his tragic death but we finally heard what happened and how this affected the family and why Amanda has such guilt about leaving the farm.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Almost did listen to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I had no intention of buying the next book in the series. I was going to just stop after this book because I really do not like romance books. But as I listen, I'm not sure that this actually qualifies as a romance novel. It certainly does have some romance but it also has so much more. I'm going to go listen to book 3 now and I have no intention of buying #4. Hah! We will see how that goes.
