About this listen
An unexpected job offer to work as a nanny for the most eligible bachelor in their small town, sends rumors flying. The mayor of Jasper Falls might seem too old for Skylar to date—plus, he's now her boss—but there's no escaping the chemistry they share once living under the same roof....
Rhett Buchanan has single-handedly revitalized Jasper Falls since taking office as mayor. This handsome, single dad appears to be the picture-perfect man, but beneath all that small-town charm, he’s hiding a dark past.
Skylar Marcelli is relieved to move out of her overcrowded, childhood home and into the mayor’s mansion as a live-in-nanny, but her boss is sexy to the point of distraction, and his high expectations leave her eager to please....
The holiday rush slides into a holiday crush, when cold winter nights heat up with sexual tension, an explosion of passion, and an unforgettable Christmas punch that lands Skylar on the Naughty List and at the center of a Jasper Falls scandal.

I enjoyed this audiobook.
If you have read this series then you will be familiar with the big families and community of Jasper Falls. If you haven't read this series before, don't worry, this book can be read as a standalone.
Rhett is the mayor of Jasper Falls. He is a single father and is desperately trying to balance work life with family life however when his last nanny left, Rhett is finding it even more difficult. Luckily Skylar shows up at the right place and at the right time. Desperate, Rhett offers Skylar the job of the nanny on the spot.
I enjoyed this nanny romance. It was fun, passionate and sweet. There is an age gap of 15years between Rhett and Skylar. Age gaps wouldn't be my favourite trope, I will admit and be to honest it wasn't much of a big deal until things got a little bit more serious. I found Rhett controlling at times however he did calm down as they got closer. He turned out to be really sweet.
My favourite character has to be Skylar, she is determined and even at 21years old, she is so mature. She knows what she wants and she works hard to get there. I loved how the characters communicated with each other, even though their struggles.
Overall it was a good read and I would reread it.

Skylar has always been there for anything her boisterous family needed but what she really wants is to pursue a secondary education. Working for Rhett will allow her to save the money she needs while doing a job she enjoys and is good at.
Skylar and Rhett and determined to fight their attraction to each other but they are about to find out that some things are meant to be as they take us on a heartwarming journey that includes lots of love, family and a little turmoil. I did enjoy the performance of the narrator as she had you engaged with the characters and what they were feeling.

This was a cute small town, age gap, holiday romance. Unfortunately I didn’t really connect with the narrator, although this book was in third person I would I’ve preferred a younger narrator to reflect the FMC a little more. That being said the overall storyline was ok. Personally I didn’t think there was any proper chemistry between the two, they were complete opposites with Skylar having a being from a big extended family and having a nurturing side with Rhett being an only child and having an abusive upbringing. To some degree then being opposites helped them fit together but I just feel like something was missing. I love age gap romances and taboo books but for some reason I felt uncomfortable and this was a contemporary romance not even dark lool. Anyway I did like how Rhett was with his daughter considering his own upbringing. I thought that Skylar’s maternal grandmother was so funny and sweet she kept the story entertaining. There are a lot of side characters who have their own stories so I might look into their books.

Lucinda Gainey is our storyteller, and I enjoyed her performance. There were a few times the character voices ran together, so it wasn't easy to tell who was speaking, but her voice is pleasant, and her cadence well-paced. I loved visiting Jasper Falls.
