Summary

The locals of The Bull’s Head meet an odd salesman after hours. The future of the entire planet hangs in the balance. Everything depends on them and their ever-dwindling grasp on sobriety.

Pie Eyed!

Another very amusing listen from Simon Carr. This time an alien rep for a company visits the Bulls Head and it's anebriated patrons. Very funny listen with maybe a little too much bad language but maybe appropriate. Madeline Ogburn does a great job of the narration and brings the book to life. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this voluntary review.

Funny story. Shame about narration

I loved this story. But sadly, I was MASSIVELY put off by the narrator.
It seems such a crazy idea to get an American to narrate a, very clearly, British story!
The readers poor attempt at a British accent was awful and didn’t have any of the correct nuances. And she seemed like she really didn’t know what she was saying at some points.

Very rude, crude and Hilarious

A very rude, crude and Hilarious story. Zac is here to negotiate a deal with Earth, unfortunately the customers of the Bulls Head are the ones he has to negotiate with and they are getting drunker by the minute, throw in rival shape shifting lizards, and a multitude of f words and bodily functions and you have a glorious hysterical story.. An excellent narrator who can even sing makes the book an easy listen. Maybe a few less f words could have been used but otherwise a great read. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review

Loved this book

I was given a copy of this for an honest review and I’m glad I did.

I’m Stanley and I’m 86 years old!!! Stanley for me was the running joke that kept showing up through the story that I loved. This suits my sense of humour perfectly. I’d love another book about Stanley’s life. That’d be such a funny read. The story is really fun and a big fingers up to intergalactic salesman. It’s brilliant

Funny, Funny, Funny

A strange encounter in the Bull’s Head leads to a battle for the planet’s future.

Another nicely constructed and very funny product from the deranged mind of Simon Carr.

To avoid spoilers, I’ll say no more about it

Side-splitting!

Pie-eyed (space and stuff)
Written by-Simon Carr
Narrated byMadeline Ogburn

I received a copy of the audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Local owners and regulars of the Bulls Head pub situated in the Northwest UK, make an amazing discovery – not only do aliens exist but also lizard people live among us ( someone owes David Icke an apology!)
What follows is a hilarious tale, filled with one-liners and cleverly written puns that can't fail to make you laugh. Simon Carr has written a genuinely funny book and while there are many funny books, finding one that stands out is not an easy feat, but Pie-eyed definitely fits the bill. With the author's outrageous sense of humour, you will split your sides and then quote lines of this book repeatedly within your circle of friends.
“ I'm 86! “

Very blunt in places, I can understand that some readers may find it an offensive read due to the colourful language but Simon Carr has created an honest, in-your-face style which is refreshingly original, displaying imaginative and down to earth characters.

I had the honour of not only enjoying the story but also listening to the audio version. Narrated by the talented Madeline Ogburn, she brings the book and personalities to life. Narration is an art and critical to the success of an audiobook, conveying the mood, setting the tone and engaging the audience. The author evidently considered this as is proven with his choice, and in my opinion perfection, crucial to this book.

In conclusion, yes there is adult language, yes there is adult humour but then again the book is aimed for an adult audience.
Is it worth the read? Absolutely!
Do I recommend it? Most definitely!

I rate Pie – eyed 5 out of 5 stars.
