Summary

What if you were stuck in a tower but didn't realize?

Zel has lived her whole life in a penthouse suite. The best food, the best clothes, and the best entertainment at her fingertips with a mere push of a button. But there's something missing. And the online chat she has with Asher is her only connection to the outside world.

But all of that is about to change, and Zel's life is about to be turned upside down.

This is a dystopian stand-alone reverse harem with a twist. It was previously titled Hidden. Only the title and cover have changed.

Uniquely entertaining

I really enjoyed this unique and engaging short story. It had an interesting storyline and compelling characters. I'd love for there to be more because it felt like a really great beginning to something awesome.

Nicole did a stellar job narrating this piece. I enjoyed her performance and would definitely listen to more from her in the future.

So good but short!

This was a fantastic sci fi story with plenty of twists to keep you entertained. I loved this book, it had a bit of a fairytale feel to it, despite its futuristic setting, and whats better than prince charming - three princes, of course! A fun read which I hope will have a follow up!

Interesting

I did not see where this audiobook was headed. The author did a very interesting twist which really made the story stick with me. I enjoyed the characters but didn't fall in love with them. All and all, it was an interesting story that did keep my interest. The narrator did a great job, easy to listen too.

This book has a really intriguing storyline. Good characters, I would like to see more from these in future books as I feel like I’ve just got to know them. Great narration from Nicole.

Short story with Rapunzel vibes

Zel has lived her entire life inside due to being unable to breathe outside. Her only escape is talking with Asher when her mother is away at work. Boredom leads her to create some amazing tech out of almost nothing, and she shares her ideas with Asher.
I liked the dystopian world Zel lived in, which seemed to be highly reliant on tech. She is desperate to leave the apartment and discover the world. Her interactions with Asher lead to an interesting discovery.
I did feel like this story is a prequel to a series, however I can't find any other books relating to these characters. There isn't really an ending, as there is far too much left unsaid and nothing is really resolved.
The narration was good, and I would listen to Nicole again.

Short and sweet and well narrated

Nicole Payten-Betts narrates this really well. The characters spring to life.

I loved the setting of this story, somewhere familiar yet kinda also not. The idea really intrigued me and I actually didn't guess the twists which worked really well. I liked the characters and I was rooting for them all the way through. I know I say it a lot but I would love be to spend more time with them. A short, yet fully formed story that is sweet and enjoyable.

What happened.

I had a lot of problems with this story. Mainly - what did I even read? Honestly, I had a hard time comprehending what actually this book was about. It didn't really seem to have much of a plot until the very end. While I know this is a shorter book, I think this would have been better if it was just a little longer. There would have been more of a background into understanding what was happening. I just really didn't enjoy it and could not find myself to care enough to really give more into it.

While I had troubles with the story, the narration was fantastic. So if you are looking for a quick listen where there isn't much of a story plot, then this might be for you.
