Summary

Pebble Cove is not the sleepy coastal town Rosemary remembers from her childhood. Ghosts are everywhere, and only she can see them.

When Rosemary Woodmere inherits her estranged grandmother's Victorian tea house, she doesn’t expect to also inherit a ghost named Asher from the 1920s.

Things get weirder for Rosemary.

Her grandma was supposedly murdered.

A body washes up on the beach, and the police suspect her of the man's murder.

She's trying to navigate her newfound ability to talk to ghosts.

And she doesn't even know the first thing about tea.

Rosemary's experience as a librarian hasn't prepared her to solve a murder, but everyone around her is steeped in suspicion, and she has to find the truth before someone else ends up dead.

Sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy

Oh wow!!! The only thing I can recommend is unplugging the phone, putting up a do not disturb sign and sitting down with a cup of tea and get ready to be entertained for a couple of hours!!. I don't normally like to listen to a box set all in one go and break the stories up by having a totally different story inbetween, so I don't confuse the story lines but that was not the case with this book and I loved every minute. Each book is just as good as the last and as they continue on from each other this is a great way to enjoy the series. I enjoyed all the books in the authors other series Pepper Brooks Cozy Mystery and Stoneybrook Mysteries, so jumped at the chance of starting a new one, I didn't even read the blurb. This meant I didn't know the different direction the author was going to take with this series (non of her other series has a paranormal side to it) but I just loved it. The ghostly help really added to the investigation and were just a delight and the concept of a Cat being mayor is my kind of town. The human characters were just as much fun and I hope I don't have long to wait for the next box set.

Book 1 - Steeped in Suspicion
The mystery was good and I liked how just when you had things all wrapped up it takes a different turn and with a number of suspects there was already a lot of twists. A well thought out plot that I really enjoyed and makes for a brilliant start to a new series.
Rosemary returns to the coastal town of Pebble Cove after the death of her estranged Grandmother. She has inherited her not only her house but also her tea shop business. The problem is she has to share it with a ghost. Asher is from the 1920s and died during the war, he is also the first ghost she has meet. But that is not the most shocking thing she learn upon arrival first Asher drops the bombshell that her grandmother was murdered and then they find a dead body washed up on the shore. The police are quick to discover he has a connection with Rosemary, well a piece of paper with her number on. Not having visited the small town since she was a young girl, Rosemary will have to learn all about her new neighbours and the long running fueds or arguments her grandmother had. If Rosemary is to avoid being arrested she will also have to relie on help from the towns ghosts, which also includes Meow the cat who was the towns Mayor for a number of years and who her grandmother was a bit supporter of. Will solving the strangers death also lead to proof that her grandmother was murdered and eventually to her killer? And if she can see ghosts why hasn't she seen the one person she wants to see most?

Book 2 - Matcha Do About Murder
I think this was my favourite book in the set, as you learnt a lot more about the ghosts already in Rosemary's life. I just love the whole ghost aspect to the stories it adds a fun element to the books, especially when they get involved in helping solve the murder and the way Rosemary has to cover up her odd behaviour or in the case of a certain ghost over come his hindrance. . The mystery side was also interesting and kept me guessing, I never did guess the killer, despite the clues.
Rosemary decides to check out the competition and pays a visit to the other tea shop in town. Only for the man sitting at the next table to her, to keel over and die. Just after after complaining loudly the tea was horrible. He was the ex of the owner but did she really hate him enough to kill him in such a public fashion? The police are quickly on the scene, too quickly? And it seems everybody has a soft spot for the man's widow, including the police chief. Rosemary has her hands full running her own tea shop and doing research on her ghost friend, she has no intention of interfering but her neighbour asks her to investigate when it looks like the police are focusing in on his friend, an ex felon. Can Rosemary get any help from the ghosts in town to help solve this murder or is there going to be another cover up?

Book 3 - A Score to Kettle
Another good story, where I didn't even have the killer on my radar.
Rosemary and her new partner are excited to be catering there first bit event, the only problem is its to be held where a murder tried to killer and is just one of the reasons why Asher her friendly ghost isn't happy about it. The other reason is it is being hosted by the great great grandson of the man who stole his girlfriend and possibly killer him. Rosemary can't turn the job down and there is a lot of buzz and speculation about the new communion opening up there. Asher was right to worry when one of Rosemary's new tea kettles goes missing and a young girl is found dead. Can Rosemary find another killer and at the same time uncover some secrets about Ashers death? She will once again need some help from her ghostly friends but even a thunderstorm won't stop her from finding the truth, even if a policeman just wishes she would stay out of it.
I really liked the narrator. She is just perfect for the characters and it's almost as if the story comes alive in front of your eyes.
