About this listen
“Original sin” is a lie. Jesus, a deeply profound teacher of love and unity, never said a thing about “original sin”. It’s a doctrine invented by Augustine of Hippo over 300 years later.
While there are certainly issues within institutional religion, upon textual examination and spiritual contemplation, there are also beautiful, enduring teachings of collective harmony and inner transformation. Underneath layers of ego, the real message shines through.
“Truth is One, The sages call it by many names.” (Rig Veda)
In this book, author Bob Peck takes us through his own highlights of the “spiritual buffet line”: from present-embracing Zen Buddhists to insightful Indigenous shamans and compassionate karma yogis. He explores the avatar doctrine of the Bhagavad Gita, the work of Byron Katie, new science in relation to spirit, and the true loving message of Jesus.
As Peck articulates, the Bible is not infallible, but in certain moments, it does point to the reality of who we are, as does Sri Ramana Maharshi, Carl Jung, Anandamayi Ma, the Gospel of Thomas, and A Course in Miracles. From psychedelics to "the illusion", to Peck’s own learnings along the way, Original Sin Is a Lie is here to point us to a rich spectrum of mystic wisdom across the spiritual traditions and ultimately help us uncover our true nature. What else is there to do?

Amust read for the non religious awakened soul
The similarities of the religions and the true messages explained so well.
Expertly researched and delivered in a very digestible way. A veritable one stop religious shop for those with not much education about religion. Bob does all the work for you here.
A fantastic book, 10/10 - for people like me who are awakened spiritually to their inner worlds through meditation, but don't know enough about religions and the teachings that got others beyond ego and 'the land of the 10,000 things', as Lao Tzu puts it.
I learned so much about what the ancient books said and meant and what the religions, based on those teachings ( loosely and wrongly in some cases) taught. Bobs arguments are solid and convincing.
This book is an antidote to division and helps us heal the chasim between the extremes of right and left and relgious and non religious alike in this new time of Aquarius.
A great teacher and makes this stuff so accessible and enjoyable to understand.
A really important book in this time and so timely when the importance of us coming together as one humanity is considered right now in this time.
And love is insta account too ❤️

Important messages
This work brilliantly details similarities between Jesus's teachings and so many that came before. The author explains clearly to the reader what I believe all myth aims to achieve: The understanding that separateness is a temporary illusion and that true reality is in unity with all life.
Spreading the message of love, empathy and connectedness with the world is more needed now than ever before. I cannot recommended this book highly enough.
