Good story well told but oh my god the confusion

This book was not suitable for audio. I thought i was going mad the first few chapters I had no idea what was happening. I went to previous reviews to see if they would shed any light. So once I realised it was a sliding doors type scenario I could follow it easy enough except for the ending when the 2 scenarios interlinked. the narrator was excellent as usual she is the best I've experienced. Good story but could have had a disclaimer at the start to allow the listener to know what was happening

Confusing story line

Have to say it was a very confusing story line. Chopping and changing between the two. Like no other book I’ve read. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy it. I did. Just different from what I normally read/listen to.

struggled

found it abit hard going following which story we were listening to as the switch was not made clear or distinctive... by the end I was completely jumbled up

Excellent

It was an excellent read even though not my favourite from Faith. Looking forward to the next one. Really delighted I found this author.

Not ideal for an audio book

Have enjoyed other books by Faith Hogan but the way this one is written does not lend itself to an audio version. It wasn’t until I had struggled and replayed several of the early chapters then got the book version that I realised there was 2 different storylines because these are distinguished by 2 font styles. The narrator however, has nothing with which to advise the listener of the switch between them and I found it all too confusing. Usually there is a chapter title or if it’s a time slip a date or similar to let you know you are moving between storylines. Gave up listening on audible and read the book tho I only stuck with it because I had paid for both versions!! To be honest I didn’t catch on to the fact it was a version of ‘sliding doors’ until I checked out other people’s reviews by which time I had finished the book still none the wiser and had put it down as some confusing time slip novel that didn’t make sense! Much prefer the Midnight Ladies swim club.
