About this listen
Court Gentry, aka the Gray Man, is back – and once again on the run from old friends and foes.
Four years ago, Gentry was betrayed by his handlers in the CIA. Now, an old comrade, Russian arms merchant Sidorenko, returns to force him on a mission against his will: kill Sudan’s President Abboud, the supposed trigger for the Darfur genocide. But the CIA has its own plans for Abboud. With his ruthless employers on one side, his blackmailing former friends on the other, and a doomed mission ahead, Gentry would kill just to get out of this one alive.
Every bit as thrilling, informed, and addictive as The Gray Man, and once again skillfully narrated by Jay Snyder, On Target is sure to hit the mark for thriller fans.

To survive, Gentry becomes a paid assassin, the Gray Man.
Gentry takeson a job that the CIA are interested in and things in his life change.
The Gray Man, the first book in series, sets out some of the back story and On Target follows a short time after the end of the book. Better to read in order.
I enjoyed the book immensely. The plot is very far fetched but enjoyable and escapist.
The narration by Jay Snyder is good.
Book 2 in The Grey Man series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I've not come across the Grey Man before but this book stands well on it's own. It is fast paced and exciting. What was one of the most memorable moments of On Target?
The description of the square where the attempt to kidnap the 'target' is first rate. What does Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His voice characterisations are very good - some of the accents are a bit odd but it doesn't matter. He captures the drama and emotion of the scenes very well.Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I found myself rooting for the hero and wanting to tell him to be careful.Any additional comments?
All round a very good story.Fantastic

I live the way that Greaney's writing has just the right level of descriptiveness, painting a vivid picture but without slowing down the pace of the action.
Snyder does so well with all the voice changes, swapping between nationalities/ ethnicities, ages and genders with hardly any slips.
I began listening to the Gray Man audiobooks with book six ( Gun Metal Gray) and you can easily read these books as 'stand alones'; However, I am now going from the first book (The Gray Man) and reading my way through from there in order. The little references to previous events make more sense this way but, if you do read them out of order, you can still enjoy them without feeling too lost.
I look forward to reading Ballistic now!
Another gripping Gray Man Story!

He doesn’t spend a lot of time fleshing out his characters, so do not expect character-driven plots from this author.
Expect plot-driven, supermen characters who have easily identifiable motivations.
Fun, well narrated escapist action stuff!
