Story
Some doors aren't meant to be opened.... While many on Earth grow fearful of the Messengers' remarkable powers and others lament a lack of interplanetary cooperation, two discoveries threaten to turn the world on its head. One find could simultaneously rewrite the history of two planets; one revelation could tear Dan McCarthy's life apart. With the stakes higher than ever following the birth of his daughter Piper - a child like no other with a secret the world isn't ready to handle - Dan will do whatever it takes to protect his family.

Story
In the year 2243, the Moon belongs to the dead. The largest graveyard in the solar system, it was the perfect solution to the overcrowding and environmental problems that had plagued mankind for centuries. And the perfect place for Cali Washington to run away from her past. But when a mysterious meteor crashes into one of the Moon’s cemeteries, Cali and her fellow Caretakers find themselves surrounded by a terrifying enemy force that outnumbers them more than a thousand to one. An enemy not hindered by the lack of air or warmth or sustenance. An enemy that is already dead.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

finishing on a low note
from the highs and the k
lows throughout the trilogy, I found this one to be the most tamest of books. it rises and you think,
" heck there going to be 6 more story books"
but alas! no. everything tidies very neatly and easily. stupidly so in my opinion.

Excellent trilogy
The “south” Sheffield/mockney accent aside, this was a very enjoyable listen. All three books have been very well narrated, and the story has been great.
Whilst I am sad it’s over, it probably is best left as a trilogy.

Repetitive in parts.
I really wish Falconer would stop repeating things that have just happened. I'm perfectly capable of remembering something from two chapters before, and certainly don't need huge explanations of why a character is doing something when it's blatantly obvious why the character would be doing something. The thing is, I like the plots and the storyline...I like what happens....I just don't need to be told what is happening again and again in recaps.

First book was great, second one was less exciting, the third book is great.
Flows very well start to finish, although it might not make best use of the drama, i really liked this.
I think this come from both the writer and the reader, some of the writing can feel a little robotic, especially the first couple of chapters but it does smoothen out. Whatever flaws the writing and ready has, if find it is counteracted by the great dialogue and the narrator giving each character a very distinct voice.
Will definitely follow this story to the end.

Was it needed
I really thought I liked this series, and thoroughly enjoyed the second more than the first. Both books 1 & 2 had action, mystery, suspense and conspiracy, and I also thought that Dan and Emma wrapped everything up nicely... It never crossed my mind that their would be another book.
So after all of the action and intrigue the first 2 books gave us, I was confused by this book and it's climax, which was something akin to giving a quote for a greenhouse.
Not sure if I'll carry on.
P.S,..Cole had the worst accent I've ever heard.

Steady decline
The first book was great, the second okay, but this was a fairytale. it was acceptable, but a bit contrived. It was a chance to see characters that we liked, play together again, but the story just couldn't compete with the original. It devolved into a chance for characters to play the same roles they always pla, and after all is said and done, they all lived happily ever after. Please don't let there be a fourth book!

EXCELLENT!! More please!
Omg I'm sorry it's over. I fell in love with the characters and the story, and the narrator's voices were great. I've had a problem being able to listen to a lot of absolutely terrible narrators whose voices and delivery just ruin the audiobooks. Not this one. I love sci fi and aliens, and this satisfied that need.
Great story telling. I'd be very happy with more about the Reconstruction on the alien planet and interactions with our characters. Never got the names of the two Messengers.

Nice close to a long trilogy
I'm glad this installment really made the first two reads worth it. It's positive, fun, simple, and worth the time. The first two books were just way too long for me for what they offered, but the good parts still made the books worth it. Here we have a premise that has potential to really grow into something. Fortunately there is a fourth book which I now look forward to reading next.
