Summary
No One I Knew is the compulsive new psychological thriller by A J McDine.
Praying her daughter’s still alive. Fearing her past is about to take its revenge. When three-year-old Immy vanishes during a family barbecue, her mother, Cleo, imagines the worst. Has she fallen into the river at the end of the garden and drowned? Or is it something even more unthinkable? After all, there's one person with good reason to want to abduct Immy - the woman Cleo thought she’d seen the last of three years ago. With time running out, Cleo sets out to uncover the truth. But as she confronts the demons of her past, it becomes clear everyone has a secret to hide. And the more she digs, the more she realises her carefully constructed life is just an illusion.

Perfect narration
One of the things I look for most in an audible buy is the voice of the story teller and Fiona is just brilliant. The personalities of the characters are portrayed with such perfect interpretation and yet her voice is so soothing to listen to, I'll be looking out for more books read by her! I also found the story a gripping listen, I couldn't put it down!

Don't read reviews
This book was only just released and I just started it today. Couldn't remember what it was about as I had it on advance order so I thought I'd read a few reviews and there, straight out with no warning, was the "reveal" in a review. Can't tell you how annoyed I am. Do people not realise that others read reviews to see if it's worth buying? Please, if you must reveal the end, at least put a huge SPOILER ALERT before doing so.

COULDN'T STOP LISTENING
After her first two thrillers, A J McDine became an auto-buy author for me so I bought this one even though I had others in my library I hadn't listened to yet. This new one didn't disappoint. I disappear into her books which are so well written you feel as if you're living them rather than 'reading' them. I put my headphones on and don't take them off until the book is finished and I've done that with all three.
Great stories, compelling characters, believable dialogue, exceptional writing. What more can you ask for?
The narration was pitch-perfect, bringing AJ's characters to life and portraying the difficult scenes with just the right amount of emotion, not overplaying, but exciting and believable. I really liked her and will look out for more books by Fiona Mitchell.
Hurry up and write another one AJ ... I can't wait!

Enjoyable from start to finish
Really enjoyed this thriller. Lots of twists although a couple were annoyingly predictable. Liked the main character most of the time but she was written as far too naive at times.
