Summary

Can the road to the top take you on a path to love?

After 10 years abroad, Alexandra "Ali" Lennox's father asks her to move back to Los Angeles to head the family company, Lennox Breweries.

The company's COO, Jill Gold, has dedicated 20 years of her life to Lennox Breweries and is not amused when she's asked to mentor Ali, who she considers to be nothing more than a privileged trust-fund brat. Even though they don't see eye to eye, Ali and Jill will have to learn to trust each other for the sake of the company - and each other.

Can Jill change her mind about Ali's smug entitlement? And will Ali be able to come to terms with the past hurt that drove her away from LA in the first place?

Contains mature themes.

Great book

Another brilliantly easy read from Harper. The perfect book to curl up and read when you want to be transported for the day. Classic lesbian romance and I loved that so much of this book was set in the work place!

Ok, but not Harpers best

I’m a Harper Bliss fan, so this review pains me 🥺

Maybe it was the narration; the narrator for Jill sounded very robotic and was harsh contrast to the better Ali narrator.

The story was ok, nice distraction from every day life I guess, but I’m not in love with this as much as Harpers other work and many great books

This one wasn't for me 😭😩

I'm not sure what it's about this book but I detested it. I utterly loathed the rich, entitled and self-important brat that is appointed as the CEO of a family brewery. The age gap of 20+ years was ok, mostly, but I just couldn't get over the younger fmc personality. The story wasn't great either.
The narration was excellent though, so I gave an extra star just for that.
