Story
In 1883, Napoleon Hill was born into poverty. In 1910, while working as a reporter, he was assigned to interview billionaire industrialist Andrew Carnegie. During this interview, Carnegie gave hints about the "secret" he had used to attain wealth. Carnegie believed the process of success was a simple formula which could be duplicated by the average person. Impressed with Hill, Carnegie commissioned him (without pay and only offering to provide him with letters of reference) to interview over 500 successful men and women, many of them millionaires, in order to discover and publish this formula for success.

Loved this book. I’d recommend it to anyone interested in self-development. As a teenager Hill’s books helped me through difficult times - these ideas when practiced have definitely worked for me. But many of us read material like this, liking the idea of change, without putting it into practice. Great book.

The art in success, it sure does work! Amazing!
If you could sum up Napoleon Hill's Golden Rules in three words, what would they be?
Wealth through understanding
What did you like best about this story?
Great examples to clarify meanings. Fantastic additional reading suggestions. The must read in conjunction with Think and Grow Rich.
What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His voice is very empowering and full of energy, transmitting the message very clearly and well. Although every hour there are bits where he talks too quietly for a minute or two, it is okay.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
After reading multiple times Think and Grow Rich, it was clear and proved to me how effective this principle is. Now that I have found this book, I am impressed how clear the message is. I have read it also numerous times and it is key to understand the whole meanings by interiorising them. In understanding this book it delivers in essence the encrypted message. When you pick it up with your conscience then it is very clear and you will find it is repeated many times. It will bring you amazing success and wealth as it has to me.
Any additional comments?
This book transmits the inspiration and the power to achieve anything you want. Hope you will gain great wealth soon too.

“Man from Galilee...”
I’m a Hill fan and generally like his stuff. The Hill Foundation has gotten a lot of run out of Think and a Grow Rich, which is fine. This one bugs though...the narrators voice fluctuates so much it’s like several people are reading it. Also, I don’t know if it’s like this in other Hill books and I just didn’t notice, but he refers to Jesus Christ as “the man from Galilee” several times throughout the book. I’m a religious person and I found it disrespectful to not call him by name...just a strange way to refer to him over and over again. Good content in this one, but it had some issues.

I've listened to just about every N. Hill book and this was the toughest to listen to. The last chapter is excellent which is about the Golden Rule but most of the first 11 chapters are not all that inspiring. I guess there is a reason these writings were "lost."
