Summary

Mutiny

For Lt. Commander Colin Maclntyre, it began as a routine training flight over the moon. For Dahak, a self-aware Imperial battleship, it began millennia ago when that powerful artificial intelligence underwent a mutiny in the face of the enemy. The mutiny was never resolved - Dahak was forced to maroon not just the mutineers but the entire crew on prehistoric Earth.

Dahak has been helplessly waiting as the descendants of the loyal crew regressed while the mutineers maintained control of technology that kept them alive as the millennia passed. But now Dahak’s sensors indicate that the enemy that devastated the Imperium so long ago has returned - and Earth is in their path. For the sake of the planet, Dahak must mobilize its defenses. And that it cannot do until the mutineers are put down. So Dahak has picked Colin Maclntyre to be its new captain. Now Maclntyre must mobilize humanity to destroy the mutineers once and for all - or Earth will become a cinder in the path of galactic conquest.

Pretty good

Great story. Enjoyed the concept, i felt whilst the narrators performance was good, his voice didnt suit the story.

Overall a great story but missing something

this had the potential of being a great series but it felt like it was badly edited or the writer assumed stuff and didn't tell us. There were times I had to rewind thinking I missed something but hadn't. The science is a bit iffy but after reading the expeditionary force series, I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to the science behind the story. The second book is a bit better but still feels like there are gaps in the story telling.

Run on paragraphs

Great story with a great narrator.
However it seem to have editing issues with paragraphs running together. Swapping perspective without a breath or pause.

Great science fiction 👍

Fun, with likeable characters and villains you have no problem rightfully hating. I recommend the series to all!

A fun adventure all round

Liked the story, liked the characters, liked the universe. All in a a fun ride. My only bit of negative feedback was the author didn’t do his research on the development of the English language. One character’s speech and language patterns don’t reflect the period the narrative says they developed them. But only a nerd like me would be bothered by that.

Attention Grabbing

An enjoyable and entertaining plot with a intriguing comcept. Characters are well defined and easy to follow while the action, be it passive or violent, keeps the reader wanting to know what happens next. The narration is well done adding to the drama as it progresses. All in all an enjoyable audible book.
