About this listen
There's a double murder on Military Road. The bodies of Colonel Matthew Hanson and his wife Susan are discovered with a single shot to the head. Detective Faye-Lynn Johnson is assigned the case, but even with her extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killings are baffling. Faye-Lynn and her partner can find no possible motive for the horrible murders. Enter General John Brittan, Commander of a Top-Secret Strategic Defense Program, he orders the detectives to back off the case. The murders are part of an intense inquiry by the Criminal Investigation Command (CID); one so highly classified that Faye-Lynn and her partner are not allowed to see the evidence. Faye-Lynn never has been on to follow the rules, especially with the stakes so high. She unravels critical information regarding a possible international murder conspiracy. Forced into an uneasy alliance, Faye-Lynn must remain laser focused on her one and only goal: Solving the case before it's too late.

Starts slow and ends with a bang.
A good storyline with an edge of the seat finally. I like the characters and the pace of the story.

Another great book in the series
I am really enjoying this series and Faye-Lynn is an interesting and relatable protagonist. The narration is really bringing the story to life.
I am listening out of order but it doesnt seem to matter that much.

"Who do i have to kill?
I enjoy this series of books by Ricky Forum based around the homicide detective, Faye-Lynn Johnson and her friends, told both from the first person perspective of the detective herself and from the point of view of others in the story, moving also between past and present to further expand the reader's view. The series is both simplistic and involved and should have received a four star rating from me. Unfortunately, however, this is an audio book and the narration can make or break a book. In this case, it is the latter. I have endured three previous books which have been read by Cassandra Arnold - it is a measure of my enjoyment of this author 's work that I still want to read this series despite her ongoing presence - and must now unfortunately reflect this in the star rating. Her reading voice is clipped and dreary, sounding robotic and with almost no character voice variation. A narrator's job is a very difficult one and some voice artists are far more suited to attempting it than others. Sadly, Ms.Arnold, in this case, is one of the others.
My thanks to the rights holders of Murder on Military Road who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy.

Another Great Listen.
This third book in the series is a very good listen. The story is interesting as are the characters. A double murder and once again Fay has to use her detecting skills to great effect as she races against time to find the killer. Cassandra Arnold's narration is faultless once again. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good murder mystery. I have deducted a star from the overall rating however as there were certain things in the narrative that I found very irritating. as if the author were looking to achieve a certain wordcount or meet a deadline there appears to be unnecessary words added here and there. For example, 8 o'clock pm in the evening, where 8pm would have sufficed.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

Cassandra Arnold did a great job of narration
This is a gripping suspense story, suspenseful and captivating. Detective Faye-Lynn Johnson is assigned to the case of the two murders that happened on Military Road, With little evidence it will not be easy.
