Just brilliant

I was looking for something in the plus catalogue that was not gruesome or too gushingly romantic. This series hits the right note, plus the characters are rounded and interesting and the narration is good. Yes the plots are sometimes a bit contrived, but no more so than the average Miss Marple or Poirot.

There is dated language used
for the Romany people, which really should be mentioned as being reflective of the character's time or not used at all
